I’m not sure I’d categorize it as a “daydream”, but we do need an A220 or MAX7 size jet to replace our aged out -700NGs. Plus I’d love to fly the Canibus. The MAX7 has become a running joke anymore and after 5+ years of delays no one believes anything Boeing says anymore.

Breeze will most likely become one of three things:
Most likely remain an independent carrier. How sustainable that is? Depends on the fate of Spirit imo.
Next most likely is some sort of tie up with JetBlue. We see business models and route network growing closer all the time. JetBlue needs what Breeze has in routes and aircraft, and Breeze needs what JetBlue has in aircraft and scale. There’s a lot of what I’ll call “overnight overlap” between the two. While not a ton of competing right now, JetBlue could easily adopt Breezes routes overnight, as almost all of them would fit the JetBlue network.
Least likely is a tie up with Southwest. The seed has been planted with Doxy over there… who knows.

SWA management has repeatedly stated that the old -700NGs need to be replaced and that the MAX7 is the replacement aircraft for it. What part of the equation are you not understanding?
