Setting aside ALPA vs Teamsters I really hope you guys know what you’re doing. Nothing has been communicated to the pilot group other then DW is bad. No one seems to know how the process works with certainty and that scares the hell out of me.

Please don’t screw up this job regardless the outcome.

If there is ANYTHING that Teamsters do better than ALPA I would hope that the TEAMSTERS would have told us by now. The silence of the Teamsters on this, and no mention at all, of any attempt to engage in a conversation about our grievances, tells me everything I need to know about the leaders of 1224 and the Teamsters Airline division.

That’s great. I’m tired of beating the ALPA vs. 1224 horse. You guys know my take and I know most of yours.

What I am saying is the lack of communication on how a transition would occur if the vote for ALPA wins is scary. No one seems to know exactly how that will play out including DP. Or at the very least it’s not being communicated to us. Is there a phase out period? Is there a gap of union coverage? Does an ALPA drive need to occur?

At the very least there should been some kind of Q&A roadshow to discuss these concerns by those leading this push.

I’m not asking you to change your mind on the 1224 vs. ALPA discussion, because you won’t and either will I. I do ask you to question the process if you win and make sure the transition is secure and the pro-ALPA leadership know what they’re doing.

I am not part of the group behind decertification. My understanding is that Doug Pearce takes the vote results if it is ALPA, and walks the couple of blocks over to ALPA headquarters, hands them a copy of our contract and asks for representation. ALPA accepts, Doug is in charge. He appoints a board and starts elections. Hopefully I will be corrected if my information is wrong.

The very fact that you’re in YIP with him and see him much more often then us and you’re not sure how this plays out scares the hell out of me.

I don’t understand the blind faith that this will work out and the lack of scrutiny this ALPA push has undergone.

That’s a lot of unknowns...

What is it exactly, that you few, but vocal naysayers are afraid of? How exactly do you want this to happen when there is a non-poaching agreement between the 2 unions? If you would do just a little bit of google research you would have your answers. Do you think we are the first group to do this? I think you are the one who is looking at things with blind faith. Me? I have researched, looked at the facts, and made an unbiased decision. Maybe you should perhaps do the same?

Seems like a full charge ahead without much consideration for ALPA and the position they took while 1224 was on strike, Long live the mainline carriers... wait..I mean ALPA. They're always on the side of the little guy.

Hope it goes the way ya'll wish

Exactly. A few butt hurt individuals who have ZERO interest in running for positions if and when it goes through, putting it all on the line for everyone else.

How is it that you know that nobody wants to run for positions? Are you a member of the Facebook page? Have you been reading? Have you read about who is interested in the positions? You are as proficient at spreading fake news as the major news sources. Please fact check before you blow your venom all over this thread.
