Len,
I have asked my block rep just about everything I have asked here.
I have asked the company just about everything I have asked here.
I used my real name with them.
I have heard nothing.
Can not attend any of the scheduled meetings as I work days. Do not understand why some sort of minutes can't be published? But that is not your problem.
My Great Grand Mother was Queen Victoria Kelly from Nacogodoches, Tx. Are we related?

It was less than a year ago that nearly every bag in the crew room had “My Negotiating Committee Speaks For Me” tags. I was at the meeting at the Hilton where nearly every seat was filled and Bob Chimenti and your negotiating committee were greeted with a standing ovation and were heroes to all. Not surprisingly the Agreement was ratified by an overwhelming 95% of our pilots....
Now, the Company wants to open new domiciles to further enhance growth in the fastest growing segments of our business and wants to give us additional benefits on top of our previously mentioned industry leading contract. Now, it’s off with their heads and we’re getting screwed.
If you think you could do better, volunteer at the Association or interview for a management position. If you have a better way of doing things and are not willing to do anything about it except criticize others behind a screen name you are part of the problem and not part of the solution.

1. We voted overwhelmingly for the Contract because the Union asked us to, and look what it got us--this POS LOA. (It doesn't take long for some of us to learn)
2. Standard Management position--we're trying to grow the Company, just give more days of work for the same amount of pay (or in this case the same amount of pay at a much higher cost of living away from your family-read SVT or 3 years 'til a coach ticket to the USA).
3. I would bet that 99% of the folks that have posted here have voiced their concerns (as I have) with their Block Reps. And most of us at FedEx don't live in Planet Memphis and therefore don't have the same opportunity to work in Management or at the Union--thankfully you haven't taken that away from us yet (just look at how horrid the Airbus Bidpack has gotten over the last two months).

Len,
first off, we are glad you are here to read what we have to say. As for using my real name,pm..I'll send it. I have written my rep and talked to as many people as I can come accross about this loa. I supported the union about the contract. I think the crew force may have some misgivings about the age 65 stance, since we were polled, the majority said we were against it, but wanted to be a part of the process, but the MEC takes the stance that the crew force is in favor. This loa has some sore feelings with most of us. I just don't get how the MEC can go on to say that "We don't believe STV will go junior." As a "catfish" on the bus, I will be in the shotgun for any junior manning that comes down the line. I don't agree with the cola, the housing, in my opinion is inadequate, there is no assurance of medical care, and nothing about english speaking schools for the youngins'. Those are BIG issues for a lot of folks out there. I understand that the MEC works hard, gets criticized on every choice they make, but my biggest beef is that if they are going to make a choice(without polling us), that I, or anyone eles, can get involuntarily sent away without a choice, because they think STV will go senior. That issue alone gets a no vote from me. I have been sent away involuntarily before, and I can't readily give the company means to do so to me or anyone else without a fight. The other things are issues that can be lived with, but need work, I just don't feel we should pass the LOA because we can "fix it in a year and a half when we go into negotiations." If it is not what we want, why are we asking for it. Ask for what you want.
I understand you have volunteered for the thankless job as a union rep, and as an ACP, and I thank you for it. I, like some of the other folks here, feel misrepresented by some of the senior folks, who aren't going to bid this, nor ever be affected by it.

Gentlemen,
As you see from my screen name I’m Len Kelly A-300 Assistant Chief Pilot. Yesterday I received a phone call that informed me that sensitive information in the form of names and employee numbers of FedEx pilots were posted on this forum. By the time I had logged on the information had been removed by the moderator.
While searching for the posting I read several threads regarding the proposed LOA. What stood out to me was that no one was using his or her real names. I was wondering are we working for the same Company or members of the same Association? It was less than a year ago that nearly every bag in the crew room had “My Negotiating Committee Speaks For Me” tags. I was at the meeting at the Hilton where nearly every seat was filled and Bob Chimenti and your negotiating committee were greeted with a standing ovation and were heroes to all. If you want your opinions to matter and your questions answered you need to use your name. Why, to evaluate your credibility that’s why. I am out in the crew lounge every chance I get to meet with the pilots and trying to help in any way I can and I take some shots, part of the job. Your elected and volunteer MEC officials are out in front doing work for you and they are taking shots every day, part of the job. You see them and can evaluate their credibility. You are not giving the same opportunity for others to evaluate your credibility.
The bottom line is this, I believe that anonymous postings on a free Website are worth exactly what you pay for them and you are doing your fellow pilots a disservice if you pass on bad information. If you want answers to specific questions or want clarification on intent, call the Company or the Association. Don’t rely on your fellow bloggers for information, they do not know, they deal in rumor not in fact. If you think you could do better, volunteer at the Association or interview for a management position. If you have a better way of doing things and are not willing to do anything about it except criticize others behind a screen name you are part of the problem and not part of the solution.
I won’t be a regular reader or contributor to this site. If you need to speak with me please stop by or call my office or send me an email.
