"I love the optimism but I will bet you they will find some *****s out there. Spread the word to those who still play dumb, that there is no draft/volunteer. I still run into guys that act like they have not gotten the word. BS but reaffirm it to them."

The only word these guys have gotten is GREED. Check out MEM11 xtra pairing 1152/18jul then check out the Capt's calendar. 27 days in a row of flying. His last 12 months shows lots of extra flying. I know for a fact this guy has gotten the message but he still chooses to support the other negotiating committee. The thing that kills me with these guys is they are making this extra money because most others are choosing to try and do their part to get us a fair contract. Kind of like vultures eating dead maggot infested animals no one else will take. I guess even maggots taste good at time and a half.

Exclamation Clarification may be in order...

During normal ops, have at it; knock yourself out within the confines of the current contract. However, when your fellow pilots are working hard (for 2+ years) to negotiate you a better contract, show some restraint by doing your part to help the process. Don't fly extra, protect your days off, create the carry-in conflicts and let it all fall into your make-up bank, refuse to go the extra mile until FedEx delivers a respectable offer.

I realize you weren't "condoning" flying extra, but it also didn't sound like you were opposed to it during prolonged negoatiations either. To borrow from another post to a different thread, ALPA isn't going to "drop the hammer" and produce some miraculous 11th hour tactic, but we as the membership can certainly show FedEx that we are very tired of their stall tactics and don't intend to let them get through Peak'06 as easily as in years past.

I am not a guy who does a lot of extra work during normal ops, but a CAP/BANK system will be an automatic no vote from this member.

When I have kids in college in a few years, I want the CHOICE to be able to work extra. The union shouldn't limit my paycheck.

Do the math on this guy. Jul pay in the neighborhood of $37,000. APR pay more than $34,000. This guy doesn't need Alpa, he needs a wheel barrel to visit the bank. It's a shame.

Why not let the guy know again and again and again people are watching. I'm sure you can slip him a note in his locker - or somethng else!

Why don't you do that yourself? Suggest you sign your name to make sure he knows who put it there. Nah, you would rather let some other fool follow your advice and deal with the results. Correct William?

The pairing number/date was posted so tell me you don't know who has not chosen not to jump on your failing bandwagon.

Problem with all this BS is that if it were effective the the company would drag the union into court. I was last called for a draft last December, first time in at least three years. There are few, if any trips listed in open time.
Looks to me another complete failure on the part of the few Party faithful.

Disagree

It is working....Subic, Anchorage and LA are doing thier part....Memphis is starting to theirs. I was called 17 times the first week of the month. They had real tough time filling trips. I hate to say this, but many of those trips were filled with Captains. Right seat qualified flex's LCA's and Standards dudes. There was a VCP f/o trip they couldn't fill, so they moved the RFO to FO and drafted a captain as an RFO. Don't believe me, check it out. Trip 1043MEM 11 30JUN06 (XTRA) . So they offer me a drop and draft, where I would make twice the dough for being away the less time, I turn it down only to have a Captain take it!

Now I know we have F/Os that are not all pulling on the same side of the rope, but from my perspective it's the Captains who keep bailing out schedules.

This is not a seat thing but rather just a visable symptom of where the people who lean toward the company's side congregate: Blocks 1-4, instructors, Memphis. The majority of these guys are on board and you don't want to insinuate that they are not. We junior guys have air pigs too but they are just not as visable as two guys with 4 stripes each getting on the crew bus. Don't let anything the bad apples do divide us. Don't let anything the company does divide us.
