Just like all those pushing for the change. The issue is not going away. There is nothing in the change that will force anyone to go past age 60 if they choose. The question is about the option of going past age 60. Looks like most know it will happen, just don't want it until they are close. I've been told by the UAL people that five pilots are forced into retirement each day, most with little retirement. The UAL guys say they will be getting 20% of what was expected. I guess the official ALPA position it is fine to s-rew a large portion of its members. How about we give all the 727 flying to a feeder operator in return for better pension and pay rates for the rest of us. Why would anyone want to fly the 727 in any case.

Check out the 23 flight out of ANC on 2 Jun. Could not find a ANC Capt to fill it so they used a MEM reserve by flying him up on the corp jet. F/O position is still unfilled with 24 hours to go.

Gosh, I could have sworn that the whole age 60 thing was voted on by the union wide membership. Oh, that's right! It was.

Just what part of "voted on" don't you understand? I'd send you to Bob or Larry to figure it out but they apparently don't understand that concept either.

No, it was not actually voted on. There was a poll. I'm told it was scientific because after they had 18,000 responses the poll takers decided they were not getting a proper response so they canceled the responses of 6000 and made targeted calls to a certain demographic group to obtain their scientific sample, result.

And, naturally, you're in a position to know that this is fact. Did Bob tell you that? Are you one of those people who think that it wasn't a B-757 that hit the ground at the Pentagon on 9/11?

I love conspiracy theorists. A diabolical scheme under every rock. Especially if it advances YOUR agenda.

No, Bob did not tell me. I was a UAL pilot that was down in Washington when we were all talking to Members of Congress. Most of the UAL guys had been active, held positions, over at UAL ALPA. His source was the individual that runs the Wilson Center, ran the poll.

This UAL pilot also asked the FAA Administrator about the rule change at the Sun & Fun airshow back in April of this year. She made some interesting comments. You can download them at www.video.google.com, and then Search "age 60".

So the source of this, ummm, intelligence is someone from the company who makes its living and maintains its reputation running polls? Now, please sit down, grab yourself a beer and think about this. Real hard! Does it make any sense to you that a representative from the Wilson Center would make this kind of a comment to anyone, let alone someone who has a deep seeded interest in the outcome of the survey in question?

I think your reported source for this load of garbage speaks for itself.

Default Contract language

Our contract REQUIRES the company to provide a list of all of our JA's (read:draft) for both flights and sims. Then the union posts the lists on our own web page. Get this type of language and you won't have to search other pilots calendars.

Sometimes the loudest (HOUK) pro union cheerleaders are frequently found on the list. Once a ***** (someone who sells themselves for $), always a *****.

We have the same group of people over on this side of the fence too.

The FAA Administrator is a twit. . . Blakey can go rot in a cabin in extreme siberia before I believe a thing she says.

Okay sorry, that was the ATC student coming out of me. . . but in my opinion, is the truth.

Default First SFS, now ANC..

When will MEM get onboard? Saw an 11 Capt last week on draft to fly an ANC trip, got a guy from MEM reserve to fly an ANC trip, and now there is an ANC Hotel Standby starting the 6th for MEM 11 open time. Any MEM pilot that takes that trip does not get it. I hope anyone who knows him helps him understand by explaining why they didn't take that trip. I won't pick it up make up, make up sick, as a VLT or a DFT or even trade for it. Not while we get stiff armed at the negotiating table while FedEx makes record profits and not until we have a contract. Let's see which MEM pilot undermines the resolve of the ANC crew force by flying it.....
