F/O slot on the ANC standby is now filled. That took less than an hour... The cool thing is you can tell by his calendar he was on a draft trip out of AFW today when he did it. With support like that we will be lucky to have a contract by Election 2008!!

I'm one ATC (student) that has the backs of pilots. Both sector's professionals are trying to maintain the integrity and dignity of the careers. I'm doubtful it'll work out for ATC, and because of that, I find myself here debating having SJS and grinding it out at a regional in hopes of moving to a major (or cargo) in 10-15 years.

Sorry for taking this thread off topic a little, I'll depart and go back to the sidelines and let you cargo guys duke it out.

Capt slot on ANC standby now filled by a pilot that won't let you see his calendar. We all know what that means. I'm shocked! Anyway, I did see the line he was awarded, checked out each trip and know that he is flying a 79 hour trip that carrys over 22 hours. That leaves 57 hours in this month and he just added a 40 hour standby that starts in a day so we can be pretty sure it was AVA. Grand total of 97 hour month when BLG is around 74. Add the AVA hours and it becomes 117. Once again we show that to many MEM guys just don't get it.

It might be better to do like you did and look at monthly totals, if we could somehow get the data.

I'm still going to swap with open time, if it makes my schedule better. But no way will I increase my pay....

Swap with open time all you want unless it is a trip that covers ANC flying that those pilots have the cahones not to pick up as extra. Other than that, I have not talked to anyone who would have a problem open time swaps which is why I am looking at open time at all. Anything else is just capitulation in my book.

"Let's talk about monthly caps, shall we?"

How about transparency in scheduling so we don't have some pilots making 300K + with supposed leveling going on. We all know the same guys get called by scheduling for extra flying and you can bet it's the same guys out flying D and V now. As far as I know, leveling is in name only and no way to prove they are doing it. That needs to change as well.

Leveling ONLY applies to Reserve. If one is senior he/she can bit a carry over line, protect the carry over. This will never change, ever!

Spoken like a true road warrior. Nothing better than flying extra days at straight pay right? If you think about it, doing away with carryover would mean those trips would have to be flown at time and a half or result in more pilot hiring. I know, you don't care about them even though you were a guy on the street hoping to fly at a major carrier once. Anyway. never is such a big word. That is why we negotiate contracts! But, if you change the subject from leveling to Age 60 then I would agree with you! "This will never change, ever!" Anyway, I was talking about draft and volunteer, not carry over. Fell free to spend all the days you want away from your family at straight pay. The stockholders appreciate the extra dough they get even if it kills you 10 years early.
