Do you know if 605DL and 620DL are former Delta 757's?

I know we parked a bunch of them, and those numbers sound familiar.

Yes they are former DL airframes.

Well I'm glad somebody's flying them.

I wish we still were, but I'd rather see them flying than end up as beer cans.

That's even more reason for me to vote no! If we punk out like that, we might as well be working at Capital!

MEC. Next time they try this crap, you tell 'em what we think about their little games.

Oh, and about that seniority list committee BS...don't worry about it. Not going to matter anyway.

Now I did not read the whole thing, but at face value what does this have to do with ATI and CCI?
Well, I couldn't read it all either. It helps to be a lawyer to wade through all that, and it's gotta help to have a much greater bladder-to-brain ratio than I have, but what I got out of it was that it's limited to -200s in domestic service. Sounds to me like we could put a -300 in there at any time, provided DHL wanted one. I could be wrong..

What is limiting is the language between ATSG and ABX not ATSG and DHL. ABX contract which ATSG agreed to prevents any ATSG carrier other than ABX from flying DHL freight in North America in 767 aircraft. Rest of world.... no restriction...North America..... restriction...

OK, thanks fr8. Is there documentation to back up your comment? Only reason I ask is because the public contract (as linked) appears to be less constraining than what you cite. I understand the desire to keep ABX flying within ABX, but when DHL outsources to other carriers, we all (within ATSG) lose.

And even worse...when ATSG whipsaws between its own carriers we lose even more. It becomes a race to the bottom. That was the very reason this provision was negotiated for the last time we signed a contract. To date not one ATI 767 200 or 300 has moved DHL freight between North American destinations since the contract was signed (even though aircraft/crews where available) a DC8 has been used instead. This is watched very closely.

If you are a current dues paying 1224 member I suggest you contact 1224 Local in KILN. One of the attorneys could possibly get you a copy of the SL.

No arguments, especially regarding the whipsawing. Although I am kind of surprised that the contract was written specific to 767s of any sort, while other aircraft operated by ATSG subsidiaries weren't mentioned at all. It just seems that if all this effort was put into retaining specific flying for ABX, that more protection wasn't written in from the beginning. What's to keep ATSG from getting A-300s (or something with similar capacity to a 767), assigning them to either ATI or CCIA, and putting those on the ramp? I doubt that was ever a plan, and maybe DHL really wants 767s (hence the Atlas thing, and my admittedly whiny comment in the previous lager-infused post...), but what happens after the merger is complete and more 757Fs show up?

What is the ATI DC-8 being watched closely for - coverage of particular runs normally operated by ABX? What would be considered a violation? Are Cappy's 757s and 727s also being watched and are they limited in any way by the SL?

I'm not 1224 (maybe in a few years? ), so I wouldn't have access to the site.
