ATI CCIA merger
#121
Assuming that every eligible pilot at both carriers votes and all the Capital pilots vote yes, means that they only need to turn 27 (16%) of the ATI pilots. They were probably confident they could get 16% but now, it looks like they are not so sure. The next move will be to throw out some little perk that a few guys might sell out the rest for.
If this goes through, the losers will be the ATI guys who lose seniority and the ATI guys who lose jobs.

When new airplane rumors start "leaking out" it's time to start thinking about the motive. Everyone know there's nothing that gives a pilot an HO quicker than a rumor about new planes.
When the tail number is on a certificate AND recall letters go out then you can't start thinking about getting excited. anything short of that is probably just somebody playing somebody else.

Everybody, including Cappy guys loose seniority when this happens. Why is everyone still saying that ATI are the only ones loosing seniority. I can't figure out why the ABXers are the main ones complaining, especially since ATSG is supplementing their paychecks. Besides, they'll be recalled to ABX sometime in the future anyway. I agree, there has to be a perk thrown out to the ATI pilots. I don't blame them for not wanting to vote for it. It's too bad mgmt refused to open up other areas of the contract for renegotiation. Maybe if the JCBA could have been improved a little (work rules, quality of life issues, etc), possibly more ATI pilots would be inclined to vote yes.

Bottom line is this:
1) CCI pilots get a 30% pay raise (I think it's closer to 42%, but let's not quibble).
ATI pilots get nothing.
2) CCI pilots get an increase in health benefits.
ATI pilots get nothing.
3) CCI pilots get an increase in retirement benefits.
ATI pilots get nothing.
4) CCI pilots get an increase in vacation benefits.
ATI pilots get nothing.
Points 2, 3 and 4 we're posted earlier by a CCI advocate.
All these gains for CCI with the stroke of a pen with the JCBA.
But the theme here is CCI has all these gains while an ATI pilot has nothing to look foward to coming out of this deal but a loss of seniority and possible (most Likely) furlough for the bottom guys.
Since this is essentially the same contract ATI has now, why should ATI vote yes to loss seniority and furlough more ATI pilots while gaining nothing.

I can hear 757niteflyers responce already.
The ATI guys should just be happy that they get a seniority number at all since we are such a dirt bag company and will be out of business if it were not for Cappy.

I disagree, CCIA is suppose to get a bunch of 757's, that means work for everyone. Vote yes or no either way you send a message to ATSG. Decide what message you want to send. Either way CCIA is getting more 757's. Do you want to be a part of it or try and stop it and go alone.

Did you stop and think WHY? How come they are getting all that and we are not! It's clear to me! CCIA and the crewmembers must have something that ATSG finds very valuable. ( DHL , on time proformance, etc ). You guys better take a GUT check!!! With or without you!!!!!!!!!!!

If you sit back and say I'm not getting anything out of this it's very selfish. You have junior guys at the bottom of the seniority list that's being furloughed. Everything is speculation. We've heard 9 75s weve heard 19. DHL is suppose to get back into the domestic market we've heard we are gonna be a player in that expansion. We've heard our biggest problem is getting 75s. 73 900er start hitting the airlines next year so maybe 75s start becoming available and we start getting them, again speculation. Fact is number 4 is coming we aren't sure if it's for expansion or replacement of a 72. it was announced to us The 72s are not going away as thought. We aren't for sure what's going on but it sure looks good as far as expansion. I dont know what's goin on at ATI. They are not in the DHL domestic market for performance issues. ATI is downsizing people are losing jobs which sucks. If their is a chance to combine airlines as one is expanding and save jobs I would think that would be the goal. But it seems all you hear is what am I getting out of this. You know what your getting is nothing but maybe we can save some jobs, people can pay bills and if we do expand the 75 fleet doesn't that count for upgrades that might not happen as a stand alone carrier ? So are you really getting nothing ?

CCi did not negotiate for nor did they give up anything for these gains. You (CCI) make it sound like you fought the battle with mgt at the table and won hard fought for gains. That somehow you deserve all that is being GIVEN to you by default. It was ATI pilots who won those gains not CCI. The CCI groups caviler attitude that ATI should just roll over and accept the loss of seniority and jobs is insulting to the pilots of ATI.
ATI has the Combi contract. The single most important reason for this merger is now moot. According to Vestal, the 757's coming to CCI are not "growth" airframes. They are replacements, one for one, for the 727's.
Other than "synergies" (that is such a B$ mgt word) derived from combining operations and eliminating redundancies, what is CCI bringing to this union that is of any value?
