FedEx iPads

Saw this in action on US air j /s a few nights back. Crew used internet to avoid worst of weather over midwest. ATC offered direct but they looked at iPads and stayed on course. Bidding software or porn jokes aside, it was an awesome capability.

It's just an antenna...connects via bluetooth.

That particular piece of kit says it's also a receiver, but the AT&T 3G/4G/LTE iPads all have a built in GPS receiver. An external antenna to enhance reception is a common accessory, but not required if the iPad has a clear look at the sky. I use mine in GA flying all the time with no external antenna. Oh, and it's got a FAR better EFB than that Jepp POS.
Looks like Chuck'll have to get the FOM rewritten, or we can't turn these on.

I have been told ( source withheld to protect the guilty) that the front windows inhibit the GPS Sat signals, but that placing the Dual GPS in the clearview window or in the window in the door (shade pulled to hold in place) works A-OK.
And that it worked great with the Jepp app and National Geo Maps.
Sorry but my FOM days are over.
Just a line rat for 4 years now and loving it.

Logitech has a hard keyboard cover with built-in bluetooth keyboard. It is a bit slippery but works for me. (~$90 Amazon)
