No they were grimaces. As a professional pilot for over ten years now I have learned one thing. The vast majority of pilots I have met and interacted with have a chip on their shoulder or have some sort of superiority complex. I learned this the hard way when I tried to strike up a conversation with some Continental captain many years ago. He thought his excrement smelled like Chanel #5 and let me know under no uncertain terms he was too good to waste his time talking to me. Whatever happened to just being decent? Most of these guys get into flying due to an inferiority complex or maybe a small penis. Keeping that in mind that pretty much explains the less than admirable behavior and lack of class some of these clowns have. Just sayin.

So, if most guys get into flying due to an inferior penis or small complex, and you're a professional pilot now for ten years, which category do you fall into? Let me guess. Both!
And were you there when said grimace occurred?
And if you struck up a conversation with a Continental dude, and he "grimaced," maybe it was because he thought that you were a jerk. Or a weirdo. Perhaps you had bad breath. Or all of the above.
I've met plenty of jerks in my lifetime, but that shouldn't make me the sad sac that you dear sir appear to be.
Now, I've been in a generous mood of late, and am offering hugs to both young and old, regardless as to the size of your penises. So scoot your buttocks on over here, poophead, and let's hug it out.
And nobody says, "just sayin," anymore but teenage girls and fey men.
Just sayin!

I don't know anything about all this other stuff you two are talking about. I do know my friend who is a Korean 777 Captain grimaces many times when he tells me about commuting to his gig and what goes on there. I know I grimace at some of the stories.

I also grimace when I see I have to fly with a one of our favorite players on the 777 at FedEx.

(closest I could find to a grimace icon)

Delores? Isn't there a Seinfeld joke in there somewhere?

Grimace can be frightening to children:

Prop,
Sorry your son felt as if the pilots he spoke to were showing you or your job lacking. If you truly believe the above statement, why would you expect anything different? I guess my exposure to the aviation community is completely different. Yes, most have no self confidence problems but always seem willing to chat and down to earth individuals, or at least colorful enough to interact with just about anyone. Basing a bias on one Continental Captain seems a bit extreme.... As does this post condemning the masses for the perceived actions of the very few.

It wasn't Prop's son, it was Penguin22's.

This is the stupidest thread I've ever seen on APC. And that's saying something.
