Go ahead and add another 12 months MINIMUM. I'll buy the beers if it's ONE DAY LESS.
Company is dragging feet on many fronts ... probably one of the biggest issues is the uncertain number of mass retirements (300-400 or more) once a contract is complete.
This gets them through Peak 2014 and well into 2015 with eager beavers waiting for payday -- without losing a significant percentage of the seniority list.
As an aside -- not sure why we would not wear our lanyards for info picketing?
Is CONTRACT NOW not clear enough?
Unclip the ID and stick it in your pocket for pete's sake if worried.
On a personal level, I cannot even begin to quantify how disappointed I am in this entire debacle of negotiations.
Time and effort are appreciated but results MATTER.
Mismanagement of the entire process is as nice as I can put it.
The current model is BROKEN and should be shelved forever.

Perhaps he thinks inking a 2 year deal and giving up Cologne, in hind sight, was maybe a tiny bit optimistic. But that is the past and we are on the right track now, (my guess) following UPS into mediation.

I agree that we gave away Cologne for cheap. But, other than that, I'm not sure what more they could have done. Of course, they could completely cave in and get a contract. I'd rather the NC take their time and try to get us a good contract.

The HK 767 base is a solid rumor, heard it from high up this week. Certainly not a done deal, but well on its way. Another opportunity for leverage if we can take advantage of it. And by that, I mean by not b****** it.

Why do we have to remove our IDs for this little shindig?
Also, is there any issue with jumpseating on a company aircraft to attend? I'm on my way to a trip via MEM that day, so I can't see why it would be an issue for me. This ID question got me wondering if someone would have an issue with a pilot using the company JS specifically to attend this event.
