After screwing us with age 65, the union should throw some bones to the junior guys.
For example, we should have draft pay for any holiday that the company requires you to submit a doctor's note for if you are sick.
Of course, then the junior guys would be home for the holidays, and all of a sudden, trips over holidays would go senior.

They want to make more Secondary reserve lines. The ones where you have no say in which days off you get and they can make them really ugly with stupid days on/days off patterns.
Ridiculous, of course. If they want more reserve lines they should....wait for it....build more reserve lines.
It gives them incredible flexibility. No disruptions or extra pays. If they want you to let you drop a day or two of reserve they get to choose which ones.
THIS is why we need better reserve line pay. If that needed change is made this love of the variable reserve line will fade.

So if we agree to more VTOs/PiBS lines with "new" rules which they will then ignore, that's OK? Not very logical.
Reserve sucks. Don't make it worse by substituting more PiBS lines in the bidpack.

We can make improvements, all's it takes is make sure it cost the company money when they cheat. One example, if the company advertises a stby period, they must fill it. If there are no normal open time requests then they must take a volunteer at 150% before giving to a reserve. If it goes to a reserve he gets 150% RLG.
Or we can wait until the arbitrator gives them relief.

To each his own, some VTO lines go very senior, most go before the reserve lines. But if you think things are good enough now, by all means tell your rep not to negotiate. I am sure the mediator/arbitrator will feel as you do.

A very, very poor man
Guys --- concentrate on "focused change"
No need to agree on large scale scheduling methods where they will have greater control and reduce pilot flexibility
