Default Latest Round of UPS Hogan tests

Has any UPS hopeful who passed the latest round of Hogan exams in the last few weeks heard anything from the company about interviews?

I know there are the 1%ers who don't seem to enjoy their jobs at Brown and encourage pilots to go elsewhere, but we've read it plenty. Please don't hijack the thread, I'm just trying to gather legitimate information. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Thanks.

How long have you been waiting since you passed the Hogan?

Somewhere between 1 and 70%. My guess is 2%.

There is potential for substantial retirements once a contract is signed. Our retirement lags Fedex's in some ways. Who knows what the improvements will be.

UPS as a culture is pathetic. I think there could be a reason though that they are keeping the pool full and interviewing. Greatest job working for the worst people sums it up.

What makes you think that? Not saying you're right or wrong but why would anyone retire early because a contract is signed?

A while back I heard a Z captain say that overall less than 20 people retired "early" when the '06 contract was signed. Not sure how accurate his info is but that's what he claimed. He said that for years we all heard the most senior pilots here say "give us better retirement and we're out of here" - and then they all stayed. Don't blame them at all which is why I question your statement. I think we'll see very few retire "early" once we have a contract. Who knows..

The fact Hogan tests are being administered again is somewhat encouraging. Overall I like it here even though no one seems to know what are future plan is. I'm trying to stay optimistic though.

Very happy to have run into a few new hires here and then, they all seemed to be very cool guys/gals. Welcome onboard!

Hahahaha! That's rich.

These guys aren't going anywhere. They are in their peak earning years, with great seniority, and max vacation days to conflict.

The retirement age is 65...and that's exactly when they'll retire. Guys retiring before that is a rarity.

Yeah, lol. The more I hear this, the longer I want to stay, just to prove you right.

Slug, I just call it like I see it. But really...please...you don't have to go to all the trouble of proving me right.

When I got hired here in '07, I remember seeing some pilots at the sort that looked like they escaped from a retirement home. When I referenced the seniority list, and looked at some the DC-8 FEs dates of birth, I almost fainted. There were some guys that were born from 1930 to 1932. You guys can do the math. The simple fact is that some guys will never leave, unless they are forced to retire. With age 65 and no more Engineer seats, that would be most guys at Brown IMHO.

LOL, some truth in that, for sure. Personally, I would not really stay longer just to **** somebody off, no worries Archie ;-)
There is a bit of a difference between the now over 60 crowd and the PFE's though. Many of them were on about their 12th airline, and making a whole lot less dinero here than the current crop of over 60 capt's, and the retirement then was significantly less. Hard to say how it will play out, but we'll see. I will say some of those PFE's were the most interesting group and some of the greatest guys I've ever met, though. Stories about flying with Air America, B-29's etc. were pretty entertaining, for sure.
