Default LAS Base.

HI,

I am highly interested in Omni and have a few questions, if anyone have answers. Would anyone know what the average hours per month an FO is flying at Omni, do they break the 60 hr guarantee?

Also does Omni still have the crew base in LAS? I live in Vegas for me what would the difference be being "home based" or based in "LAS" or would it be the same. I guess the question I am trying to ask is the flying different for LAS based people vs home based.

Thanks

Pilottalk,

Most FO's flying standard bids lines fly about 30 to 40 hrs per month from what I can tell. There is other special flying that you can bid for three month bid periods that have 75 hrs or so of flying. Yes, LAS is an active base but it's pretty senior for both seats.

You referring to the TDY? Those are over...the only "program" running right now has 2 month bid lines I believe (granted I could be wrong as I am not a part of that program). From the looks of the bid packets though, any FO that can hold a security clearance should be able to get in it regardless of seniority at the moment.

Everything else AgCat said is about right for your questions Pilottalk.

For LAS there are only 5 CA and 5 FO's who get that assignment and they can not be displaced out of base regardless of seniority.

got an e-mail to fill out the application...I'm at a terrible regional and wondering what the schedules are like here at omni...are they 7on 7off? or is it scattered with 4days or 5days? or is it like some other charter/cargo where it is 15on 5+ off with a chance of being gone for 30days straight? Thanks in advance

Plan on 18 days away from home with the possibility of 36 days away because of your bidding seniority...With a threat of being held out up to 4 days per bid period...There are some split lines and it's a seniority based bidding system controlled by inefficient scheduling, so being on the bottom of the list limits your options...and then there is the threat of a 90 day TDY assignment....

Typically the lines will be 18/12 or 9/6, with some minor variation. If you get last 18, then first 18 you can be out 36 days. It has happened.

4 day holdout is there, but there are restrictions as to when and how often it can be implemented.

No TDY's in place now, but that has happened. A lot of guys were pretty mad about how it went down. I was not involved, so maybe someone who was can give the details.
