The way I read the memo, its not certain that the new 777s represent a 1 for 1 swap. There was some verbage about phasing the old ones out. Considering the number of 777 crews PLUS the hiring, it wouldn't surprise me to see a 3 to 4 jet 777 fleet sooner than later.

777's are a swap out so no gain of aircraft .

When 207AX COMES OUT OF C check 225AX THEN 234AX FOLLOW RIGHT BEHIND EACH OTHER SO AGAIN NO GAIN OF AIRCRAFT FOR AWHILE.

I just did the interview, they told our interview group that two 777-300ERs were purchased to replace the two 777 200s. No net gain and no immediate plans for fleet expansion.

Also was told the 747 rumor was total bunk. They do have a 747 on their ramp. It is being broke down for parts. Maybe that was the genesis of that rumor.

Cheers,

St

Kenya Airways is also looking to sell 2 777-300ERs. A quote from the article:

"This disposal, including that of two Boeing B777-300 planes, has however been delayed following a court case by KQ pilots who argued that the sale will render them jobless while some negotiations fell through within the period."

Congrats on the interview. When do they let you know you have a CJO, when would you start training?

OK, so here's the deal. Most people that I spoke with said their experience was being told Y or N right there on the spot. They didn't do that with us. They said they would let us know in a day or so.

I was about 5 minutes away headed home (I drove to interview) and got a congratulations email.

About two days later, i got a call and assigned an aircraft and a class date of Feb 8th.
Hope that helps.
