Will Omni be taking resumes at the WIA event next week?

I was at the NGPA event last month and Omni was not taking resumes.

Default What are the chances...

Any Omni pilots think it is possible to be considered for an interview if you are not quite at mins but have USAF flight engineer experience?

Thx Cujo...I actually have a friend that forwarded my resume up the chain, so just curious if there is a possibility of getting to apply.

From what I was told, once it opens on the 13th, the website only accepts resumes and then you have to be invited to actually apply.

If this is incorrect, then I will just apply if able.

Thanks for the reply.

It's not that we're "too lazy to go through old posts" it's that it's 250 pages dating back from near a decade ago through present day. Who has the time AND inclination to read all that? Add personal jabs &
conflicts? It's quite tedious, sometimes depressing and occasionally disheartening all-in-one. I typed "Omni schedule". I typed "Omni QOL". It's not like GOOGLE..
You have to read a whole lot of garbage to find what you are looking for IF you find it and by then...you don't even want to go to that airline after reading through the garbage. So...
Call me lazy, (def not) but still...
What is the schedule for Omni? I'm considering taking a flight out west to OBAP & meet them at this next Career/Job Fair. However, I would prefer to go with the knowledge of a schedule that would work for me and my family as I am definitely interested in the position and certainly qualified contrary to my brief time spent on this APC. Thanks for those who post valuable information, it's supremely helpful to those looking to make one of the most important decisions in their lives.
Thanks

Company owns you for 18 days a month. However, they need to pay most pilots more for days 17 and 18 due to the way our contract is written. Some lines are split, some are straight through. Many lines have multiple days of long call reserve that you can sit at home. All those things can bring your time away from home down some. But you should be prepared for 16 to 18 days on the road a month. If that is not something you and your family can handle, Omni may not be your best choice.

My current crew has three (of four) prior enlisted aircrew. You’ll never know if you don’t apply. Hiring window opens on the 13th. Good luck!

Right now it’s 18 days. 2 of those are over ride days that you are hardly ever used because they come with hefty pay over rides that go above guarantee. So, unless they’re jammed up, you won’t work them. That leaves 16 days.
Most lines will be either one block of 16 days straight and a smaller number of lines broken into two chunks.
In general, they will all be scheduled reserve days. There are a few lines with actual scheduled flying, but in general it’s a reserve line. A day or so in advance stuff starts populating your schedule. Just plan on being at work those 16 days and your safe. If you get to stay home on long call a few extra days, great. My experience this past year has been either on day one or two I’d get called with my travel for the next day. I’d get deadheaded someplace, sit a day, then operate a flight someplace. Sit there a day or more, then DH someplace else, sit a day or more and then operate something.... rinse and repeat. On the last day I’d be positive spaced home.

So, of the 16 days, the first day is your trip notification. Day 2 you DH out. Day 16 you fly home. That really leaves about 13 days to actually work. Most guys get anywhere from 20-45 hours of block per month.

Year three of the contract the max days drop from 18 to 17. We’re about to start year two in April. This also means new hire pay increases from $113 to $117 ph.

There are definately worse places to work. The flying is both fun and demanding, while not being too much. Fly someplace, take a mini vacation a few days, fly someplace else and repeat.

We do a special program out of Las Vegas that only does LAS-HNL and if you lived there you’d only be gone from home around 8 nights a month. Its a small base, but the FO slots have been going junior lately.

Omni is not the typical ACMI. We’re passengers only (for now), we run under part 117 duty times unlike the ACMI box haulers that still get beat up under the old 121 rules. You’ll never get abused flying above guarantee unless you’re super senior budding a check airman line on purpose, or in a special program with higher guarantees.

Try it, you’ll like it.

Thanks for the reply and advice GunnerV. I will put an app in on the 13th if able. I was told that the website only accepts resumes and if they like wha they see you get invited to fill out the app.
