What are they doing with those?? freight or pax?? Who will be flying them ? Are 767/777 pilots going to be forced into it? Or are pilots going to be hired specifically for those airframes??
This is the first I've heard about this - was there a memo I missed?!?
Rumor on the street is two early production dilapidated 321s that no reputable operator would come within a five mile radius of. Apparently to be used for ICE charters.

Pilots will likely be junior assigned. Omni is having problems finding qualified applicants at wide body pay rates, let alone narrow body rates, which are substantially less.

Sounds like yet, another ATSG/Omni train wreck in the making. Time will tell.

I think it is pretty delusional for Omni to believe it can bring on a new aircraft type / fleet when they cant even figure out how to get iPads online. Pathetic.

Look at how long it took Omni to get the Patriot airplanes on the certificate. And those types are already on the certificate!

Anyone they try to junior man will leave so quickly. Not a single person applied to Omni to fly narrow body at garbage rates. Also they’re definitely gonna try to create a base for those aircraft instead of homebasing. 100%.

That ship sailed.... Atlas, Eastern, iAero and others all do narrow body home basing, cargo and/or pax......
home basing isnt going away, thats a non-starter

I heard its 1 pax A321 and 1 cargo as the first two.

The ONLY official mention of it was an off handed comment in the second to last paragraph of the president's Feb 19 Letter to Employees.

I thought the president also said communications were supposed to be a top priority here??

The “president” possesses the rare gift of being able to use 52 words to express what a normal person could do with 4.

Communications is not one of his very few talents.

Yeah this are the airframes but I don’t know where they’re coming from or the condition. And keeping home asking still doesn’t change that it would be a significant QoL decease in many ways. If the company tries to pull this off without a contract watch every single person they try to put on there walk out the door.

Small correction. Atlas is not home based. We have a "Gateway Travel" program--which means, company paid ticket from your Gateway Airport (local home airport) to your base.
