They're no doubt hiring for attrition. Case in point: I was there 2.5 years, and was about 9 months junior to the junior CA. A little over a 3 year upgrade on a widebody should tell a story, especially due to the fact that they'd shrunk from 14 to 9 airplanes while I was there.
It's not the worst place to be (I was relatively happy there due to having decent seniority in my seat), but it's not a long-term gig at all, unless you like the abuse (not that there's anything wrong with that!). Heck, I'd probably still be there if they even made an attempt to treat you like a person, but they don't even try to make you feel like a valued employee. Instead, Omni is losing massive amounts of experience to companies who are better prepared to attract labor.
It's not even really the pay that drives most people away...it's the fact that they treat you like a piece of office furniture. I've sat 6 hours in the terminal after an operating flight without a hotel or VIP lounge, simply because it wasn't in our contract to provide one. They simply don't care.

Also still curious about their longer term viability. Not much news about them outside this forum.

Most of the above was under the new contract. Things actually got worse under it, except for a couple items such as FO pay and long-call reserve. I only left Omni last month.

Atlas. Lots of Omni people over here, now.
Anyway, I don't want to sound like I'm sitting here bashing Omni left and right. I valued my time there. Great crews, and really interesting flying. It certainly gave my resume a boost, and I would still recommend going there to people who may want to break out of the regionals to add diversity to their resumes. They should just go there with eyes wide open.

Will you be on the 747? Or the 767 AKA "light twin"?

Thanks! It's certainly been an interesting journey. About to finish training on the 767, which has been a very straightforward process after a couple years on it previously.

NightIP, what do the junior FO's there usually take home every month for pay? I love the C402 and all but I'm definitely getting itchy to move on. I tried to go straight for Atlas, even had a good internal rec, but never heard anything. As long as the pay isn't absolutely terrible, I figure I'd try for Omni again this month.

My w2 was a little over $52k for 2012. I worked no voluntary OT and very little involuntary. OT can be lucrative but I would rather be home. YMMV
Per diem, which is not income, was around 8k for the year.
