That number is quite a bit high. I think we have only had 3 or 4 go back recently. And only about 5 or 6 remain.

Omni was conducting interviews today (19 Feb) here in Miami at the sim facility I'm going through training at. I saw at least 4 guys, and chatted with two. Sorry, but I didn't ask how many total were being interviewed, or how many they're hiring.

No. Carnival chartered Delta. We operated 11 flights, 10 of them were widebodies(A330/B767) and one was a 757.

Well, if it sounds like I'm bashing Omni, it's only because I'm trying to educate people about what it's really like to work there. I'm not exaggerating any of my posts to make a point, nor do I have a vendetta; Omni provided me the experience necessary to move on to career-level companies, which I appreciate. I still recommend Omni to people who are looking to break into the heavy international segment, but may not be competitive yet elsewhere. It's a stop along the road. Even if things go sideways here and I end up on the street, I still stand behind my decision to leave Omni. The atmosphere there was simply poisonous.

Right before I left, a pilot was left to sleep in the terminal in JFK from midnight to 8am without a VIP lounge or a hotel, simply because he operated in before catching his gateway travel home. Nobody deserves that sort of treatment. It's inhumane.

I realize that those senior and "in the club" may not see that side of the company, but those contemplating working there should talk with a typical line pilot before pulling the trigger.

Not too much, 1900 Turbine, about 3000 PIC, but the two are exclusive. Guess I'll keep an eye on the company website. The 402 is fun and all, but I can't exactly support a family on 17 bucks an hour. :-P

Is it in the forums? Guess I didn't realize I'd have to register there too in addition to the 1224 website. So when the Admin gets around to approving me, I'll give it a read.

I've yet to meet anyone at Omni that regrets having left their regional for the job. Likewise, I have yet to meet anyone under the age of 45 that plans on making it a career. Speaking for myself only, it hasn't been any worse than what I was told to expect during the interview.

Any word on classes? A few furloughed buddies in the pool hoping they get a call soon as they interviewed in October.
