Don't rule out XJT
Cozy,
I spoke to friends that say the training is amazing ! AQP initial.
The company has been flying the ERJ-145 for about 20 years.
It will give you a great foundation of training, if you are new to 121 Jet flying.
EWR base should be possible.

Good luck upgrading at XJT. Go read the "most jr captain" forum on XJT
Hint hint: 8 years to upgrade and that's just one of the issue, wait till those senior CRJ guys come over.

P.S. even the pilots at XJT espect their upgrade time to get worst, and I am honestly not making it up. Just check out their forum, you'll see.

And keep in mind we are a small regional, so when you are saying "high seniority Dash pilots" you are talking about 30-40% of 293 pilots. Lol so its not any crazy number. And our ideal number for 61 jets is over 700 pilots. So anyone coming in now will gain seniority quickly since we just have 293 pilots.

18 to 24 months, and expect it to drop with continued delivered of jets. And dash transition is almost over (if they are not out on the line doing IOE already). Last transition class was Jan 28th.
P.S. even the pilots at XJT espect their upgrade time to get worst, and I am honestly not making it up. Just check out their forum, you'll see.

So what is the upgrade time with fleet of:
20 aircraft
40 aircraft
60 aircraft

We paused on upgrades because the dash guys were transitioning but upgrade has started again and we have already announced 2 classes for upgrade (march and april).
We are actually picking up flying from another carrier in EWR tmrw, monday and tuesday. So things are looking better.
