What's the buzz over there about flowbacks?

Interview - study the ATP Gleim for test prep, know your 121 regs for the interview portion, and get some 727 PIC time for the sim (just kidding, there is no longer a sim).

Flowbacks - no buzz at the moment. The thought here is we are not expecting furloughs at NW/DL any time soon. Per agreements between pilots and management, furloughs will be mitigated by early outs, etc., and no furloughs due to the merger.

Thanks for the info, I have my interview on the 5th. I have been looking at the Gliem book but nothing is sticking in my rock head. You would think after 8 type ratings I should have half brain. No such luck

thanks again

Didn't Compass lear from the American Eagle Flowthru-Flowback that by signing such an agreement, they just become furlough fodder for mainline pilots? What's even more amazing is a bunch of Eagle FO's that have jumped ship and gone to compass.... and will get to live the joys of Flowbacks all over again....

Set up a preferential hiring program, sure. A flowback program without fences or other protections.... never again.

I was wondering if pilots at CP and those that are applying...really understand what that airline is all about. It was designed and set up during the NWA bankruptcy by a vice-president that thought he could make some money and lower airline pilots standard of living. The nwa pilots approved that contract (and permission to start CP) with a gun at their heads (vote for this or else the sky will fall). CP is an alter ego of nwa...they fly to nwa destinations, using nwa gates, nwa owned jets, etc. Because of compass.. (and mesaba-pinnacle jets)there are almost 1000 pilots at nwa that were hired between 1993-1999 that should be captains but remain as f/o's indefinetly...The only solution to this problem would have been to ban code-share flying.

You mean... because of NWA pilots allowing Compass, (and Pinnacle and Mesaba) to fly jets... blah blah blah. Give me a break... it's all our fault. NWA pilots and all other mainliners made their bed. Now they're dealing with it. Brand scope and staple jobs for the regionals would stop the erosion. But they can't see that. It's easier to just blame instead of fixing the problem.

Eh..So by that definition, mesaba and pinnacle are alter ego carriers of nwa also? I think not.

You've just described almost every regional out there....albeit a simplistic view.

Sorry, Don.
