Comair execs in MSP, merger with Compass
#61
Well, for what it matters, I personally saw DD and DS get off a -700 that arrived from MSP yesterday around 615ish, and the f/as said they overheard them talking about their meeting with Compass.

maybe so! Some like me some dont but if your going to judge me on one statement go ahead! I wasnt talking about the 170 buddy! I do think the 175 is a good looking airplane. The 170 looks like a goofy cartoon scale version of the 737! I agree with you though man, the F15 is sexy! The F14 as well, but Tom Cruise kind of ruined that one! hell anything with weapons on it is pretty B.A. I also find some other aircraft to be relatively easy on the eyes. The citation ten.... With a good paint job at least, the caravan, f4, piper cub, the 337 skymaster (some would disagree) and most of all but previously mentioned on this thread the 757.

They do have to ratify each pilot contract. Furthermore they also have to deal with the stock holders of NWA and Delta respectively as both of those are publicly owned and compass and comair are wholly owned airlines by those two. They would have to announce PUBLICLY their intention of any possible merger and have the stockholders informed.
Also, the fact that comair will be the only one benefiting from the merger is another reason to believe that this merger is nothing more then a rumor. Compass stands to loose a lot from a merger with a company in as bad of a shape as comair. For a merger to conclude both airlines have to benefit from the union, hence, agree to it. Otherwise the other option would be an "hostile takeover" and in this case there can not be an "hostile takeover" as neither of the companies are publicly traded.
Compass is what JetBlue was at their birth and no airline would ruin the chance of having 3 to 4 years of possible profits for the sake of another hurting airline.

I'm far from jealous. I'm actually sorry that you have to fly it for that little of pay. If it got put on to a mainline certificate where it belongs, then you might actually get paid a decent wage to fly it. If each pilot groups keeps undercutting each other because of SJS, you might just get your wish for those banana's and smokes. You probably wear your epaulets backwards to signify your a "Heavy E-1 triple seventy" driver, don't you? Sad.
I would much rather fly the plane I do at mainline, but I have never had any say in the matter. And it has been mainline pilots who have voted to let these planes be flown by outsourced labor. You can hate the situation, but at least put the blame where it belongs.

I should have rephrased; I meant the new DL colors which I have sinced noticed they are already painting some. That's really all I meant too.

Shoulda .....woulda....coulda......
If ...IF....IF>....
Bottom line is... the aircraft ARE where they are and as someone else said if you think scope is going back to so called regional airlines flying 19 seat jetstreams and shorts 360's..... you are smoking crack. The business has been in evolution for nearly 20 years... hell 50 years..... Airplanes are getting bigger and bigger... and mainline companies for many decades have stripped away the smaller aircraft replaced them with larger aircraft and subsequently farmed out the shorter haul and less profitable routes........you dont have to like it... but it is what it is. So much arguing between pilots... JUST what mgt wants.
