What attrition? Delta's not hiring and has no plans to do so.

*shrug* Have heard rumblings of a few small classes after the 1st of year, although nothing is firm until the summer 2012 network plan comes out next month. We'll see, I guess.

My logic is based mostly on Compass being absolutely unwilling to carry extra staffing over the 4 years I've been here, and we're finally approaching a "normal" level of staffing - so newhire classes must mean one of two things: a) expected attrition or b) new airplanes. I guess B is possible as Delta seems to be scrambling to max out the number of permitted 70 seaters in advance of C2012 openers .

We haven't had any new emails about new hire classes. So...how was it "announced"? What is the source of this new information? Is it 2 classes of 7, or 2 classes of 14? This may be bogus Internet chatter, I hope not.

Well I have been given a Nov 3 class. A pilot where I fly now has been given a Dec 5 class. I am not sure however how many are in each class.

Awesome, congrats and welcome to cp!

Did you happen to notice the 163 pilots who took an unexpected early retirement? Plus, the 2012 block hours have not been finalized yet. CPZ attrition in the near future is a definite possibility.

I looked at the list. Half of the 163 were not even flying the line. I'd love to see Delta hire. It just seems very unlikely.

Devils advocate: 3 more airplanes still to be delivered to them in the winter, right?
