If the mount goes on the chart holder, where do you write down your clearances?
I can't pinpoint a good spot now to leave scratch paper for taxi clearances, route amendments, holding instructions etc.

You're supposed to bring your kneeboard.

What are guys typically using for a kneeboard? I've been wanting to get my Sporty's Flightgear kneeboard out again... Also, how well will the crew meal tray fit on said kneeboard?

I have the sporty's trifold kneeboard. I bought it when I started flying in my 135 gig. A Delta captain on the 777 told me that was pretty much the standard in the 121 world. I would recommend it. The side pockets are useful for stowing extra VFR sectionals.

7 years of flying 121 and I've NEVER seen a pilot use a kneeboard. Feel free if you want to, I'd expect some funny looks though

Personally, I've gone the way of a padded dinner tray. I'm able to spread out my enroute charts and still eat a full crew meal on it. All while keeping the top of my thighs comfortable.
