I only have 455 hours of 121. Basically half way there. Chances of upgrading......never. Chances of flowing, slim to none. My worry about Compass is I am to far on the backside of the wave. I have a class date next week, just trying to decide whether to jump or not.

if you have a class date already and don't have to interview and go through all that i'd say make the jump....

I know 3 non flow captains who have interviews at Delta and United. Guys are going to be leaving Compass just as fast as all the other regionals once the flow stops. Don't think there won't be movement after those guys leave.

Man, you need to TAKE that class date. I was a long time AE pilot, but left before the operation began to implode. Years ago, I would have said STAY, but these days you no way. Get off that sinking ship as fast as you can. Compass sounds like the BEST option for you. Go for it.

There were Eagle guys in my class. I walked away from another regional with 6.5yrs seniority. It was one of the best choices I made. We do flights between LAX/DFW and they have 3 jumpseats so the commute won't be bad. You will se upgrade a lot faster at Compass. You'll sit reserve for maybe a month. And junior line holders are getting 14 days off.

People will leave Compass at a rate faster than older regionals. Many other regionals have a contingent of "lifers" who aren't moving on. As Compass guys move up and on, more pilots become CAs and move up and on. Not to mention, Compass doesn't have career management pilots. As these pilots flow, the replacements pad their resume and leave quicker. See what's happening with check airmen... Can't train em fast enough! Nearly everybody here is looking to move on.

Sounds like all good things. I am coming off of a military leave of absence next week. My options are an April 16 class with Compass, April 27 class at PSA or April 30 at Mesa. I could also go back to Envoy, I have 4 years seniority there and still couldn't hold a line. Tough to leave a guaranteed job at AA, but with the stern of the ship raised up 10 feet out of the water I think it's time to jump somewhere else.

If you already have some 121 time I'd go to compass. As of right now, it's very likely you will upgrade when you get that 1000 hrs. Even if you are hired this month.

You're absolutely right. Things will keep moving here...I hope prospective new hires won't let the end of the flow discourage them from coming here. Plus there are opportunities to get involved in management positions, check airman spots, training dept, etc...it's pretty great. Like you said, we don't have the "lifers" like every other regional out there.

My day 1 consists of a DH leg only. I'm a commuter. It'd be just as easy for me to commute to the airport they are trying to repo me to as it would be to commute to my base.

Question is do I need to commute to my base and actually catch the DH flight to get the pay for day 1? Or can I commute to the 2nd day starting point myself and still get paid?

Thanks in advance.
