Poopchute, is it simply guarantee x hourly, or are there other "hidden" bits of income which come into play on the line towards the overall credit (please bear with me, I've never worked at any carrier which has "credit" time).

My good sir, I have well over 6000 hours of 121 time, in all 3 seats.

I have an offer at Compass and I am hoping some of you that are there can help me understand a couple things (I am new to the regionals).
My priority is QOL. So, I am hoping that the attrition and growth forecast to occur in the next year will get me into a line-holder with decent seniority reasonably quick. But, hearing talk of reduced efficiency trips has me wondering. Is there a requirement to reach a certain number of hours each month (if so how many)? How does this affect the prospective QOL'er? If there was a requirement to reach 75 hours each month, I am thinking the ideal line would be something with 4 3-day trips that credit ~20 hours each (even if all weekends). Is my line of thinking sorely in need of a reality check, and/or am I in the neighborhood of possibility? FWIW, looking to be based in LAX. Thanks all...
One more question: I have a class in a couple weeks and have not received any materials (limitations, memory items, etc.)... Don't they send this stuff out in advance?

However, Delta makes the schedules. We could suck one month and rock the next. Another regional could rock this month as suck the next.
The 175 is used on efficient routes though. An airline with 50 seat jets could be efficient, but chances are a 175 will be used better.
We are losing our ADTG which gave us at least 14 days off with a 76 hour line. Without it we can see 11 day off lines with 75 hours. Something to consider.

In any case my question still stands... is that sort of schedule realistic after a year?
And is take home pay just guarantee x rate, or some other way of figuring it out?
Thanks.

I guess I was assuming that you looked at the position listed next to my name, my bad. One assumption led to another, etc.

That could probably be said of most Majors in this day an age (the "new" captains, the "old" ones probably got thousands on it). Right now I'm just looking for schedule (hence my hunt for the blocks of days off) and QOL.

Aviatorhi,
There is a chance that you could get 12 to 14 days off from month to month by getting days at the end of one bid month, and the beginning of the next. You will have to be pretty senior to get it and accept that you will work hard during the rest of the month. Probably 5 day trips with 2 off.
As far as pay goes, the minimum is 75 hours × your rate. As a new guy on reserve, you will get 75 hours of credit even if they only use you for 30 hours of block during the month. Lineholders usually have schedules of around 90 hours of credit. You get credit for things other than flying like deadheading, clearing customs, cancelled trips, working in the training center, etc. If you are flexible, savvy of the sysem, and opportunistic, you can get well over 100 hours of credit for the month from time to time. I recently flew with a first officer who managed to credit 143 hours for the month. That is in no way typical though, and requires working on your days off and constantly watching the tradeboard for pop up trips. That seems to be contrary to your primary goal of getting large blocks of days off.
You will have to excuse 404. He gets a little (lot) brash at times. Please don't get the impression that we all are like that, especially on the line.
