What do you think is the possibility of a person with a 170 type being called for an interview? I am thinking about switching from Republic to Compass..

Thanks..

I would try to get on at Delta if I were you. The pay is a lot better, and the minimum requirements are about the same.

Not a chance with zero PIC 121 experience... I am at the bottom of the totem poll and things are not looking that great..

Are you a woman or a minority?

Then your chances are pretty good.

Otherwise, why not ride it out at RAH? You'd be a little late to the party at CPZ.

The possibility of getting interviewed is high. most of the people I see coming through now are from other regionals such as Freedom, Comair and Horizon.

As for getting PIC time if you are hired in the next year and things keep moving the way they are you will be a captain in 2-3 years. Plan another 2 years to build the PIC time and you are then competitive for Delta, American, United, Fed Ex or other places. You will also be fairly senior in 4 years as the last of the flow ups will be leaving. Assuming delta keeps hiring.

As it has been said many times... always apply even if you do not meet the minimums and keep updating your application. Then after you have interviewed and have the job offer make your final decision. Heck with compass you come to class for 1 day at first and then 30 days of home study. Thats a whole extra month to decide where you want to be.

I am a white male :)

Ride out RAH is an option but just made it to 2nd year pay.. with 18 months of furlough.. I will be at the bottom 20 or so among 3000 pilots after the SLI is done.. Compass looks more attractive to me than my own at this point.

Are you a white male? If so, then I would say your chances are even better. 92+ percent of our pilots fall into this category!

seattlepilot,

Never let your lack of 121 PIC Turbine discourage you from applying to Majors/Legacy's. Many have hired regional FOs with lots of SIC Turbine. Go to job fairs & shake hands, ask questions, & show interests. With more RJ CAs making careers @ Regionals the PIC Turbine requirement may have to be dropped IMO.

With all the Compass pilots that will still be allowed to flow to DAL, has he really missed the party? RAH isn't looking too good IMO. Messy arbitration & vicious competition from SWA in DEN/MKE combined with many RAH lifers doesn't equal much attrition.
