There is no evidence that social distancing and other endeavors are an effective method for reducing disease transport.

Perhaps the disease is already widespread? An Oxford University study estimated already half of the U.K. has been infected. If (big if) that is the case the disease has already spread. We are basing behavior on unproven theory.

Perhaps there is nothing we can do but herd immunity?

Viruses require some kind of vector. They don’t just magically infect people without exposure. There is no evidence that it’s transmissible airborne outside of short distances via droplets.

The CDC disagrees with your opinion.

That link backs up what I said. It’s transmissible via touching contaminated surfaces and airborne THROUGH RESPIRATORY DROPLETS which do not have the capability of traveling more than a few yards. They don’t just hitch a ride on the wind and get sucked into your house through the air conditioner.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transmission_(medicine)

Droplet transmission (what Coronavirus uses) and airborne transmission are not the same thing.

Um, no.

Reading comprehension is hard, but you can’t just take a headline or bullet, or even a phrase, and claim victory.

The very document you cite specifically asks to take countermeasures against transmission by segregating oneself.

Stop with the absolutes. You not only cannot back up what you write with objective evidence, what you provide contradicts your assertions.

Pilots: “the media gets everything about aviation wrong! How dare they call the ramp the tarmac! That’s not even a picture of the right 737 variant! They should leave this to the experts.”

Also pilots: “I’m an expert on epidemiology and no one will convince me otherwise!”

True dat.

But SOME pilots. SOME people. And maybe even all of us some of the time.

We can all try to be better...as pilots, and as people.

Reasoned discourse is what created this unique American experiment. It’s what has sustained it through civil war, natural disaster, economic catastrophe and foreign attack. If we lose that, experiment over.

And everyone says the “mainstream media” is fear-mongering. All I see there is reasoned analysis and variety of opinions...but who needs THAT?

Commies, huh? So when do we get to shoot ‘em?
Did you listen to Trump today? He said he was interested in taking some government ownership of the airlines because of the grants and loans the airlines will get.
