You are correct re. unpaid leave. If a medical accommodation you can use sick leave. I haven't heard discussion about LTD but I doubt if it's a valid reason since you'd still have a valid Class I. I'd be opposed to allowing LTD since everyones rates would increase as a result.

Pro vax and vaxxed, but not sure if I agree on the LTD. Hypothetical: if your doctor told you you would probably lose your medical if you got the vaccine, but would probably recover if you got covid, it would be cheaper to give you LTD until better options come up. Also, for legit doctors, with second opinion (not chiropractors or nutritionist), saying don't vax, I think LTD would be the right thing.

I guess it would depend in the terms of the LTD plan. If it goes the way you suggest then I'll avail myself to that option as soon as possible...I'm sure I can find a doctor who will give me that advice.

It is a can of worms, and being able to shop until you find a doctor that helps you get the rest of your life off with pay would not be good. In cases like this I always think it's a very small group of people that would need the exemption, and an even smaller group that would abuse it, but maybe I overestimate people.
Edit -- I just looked at the LTD section of the UAL contract and it's seems very clear to me that refusing the COVID19 vaccine wouldn't qualify. |
Lots of POS here trying to get LTD for vaccine refusal. Just want 11K to do nothing lol…..bunch of losers
fire them |

Serious question here… What would you all believe is reasonable accommodation for those who cannot or will not get vaccinated? Should the Company offer them other jobs?
and to the second question: no |

I’m pretty sure I could find a doctor who would do this for just about any number of disqualifying conditions/medications that have nothing to do with COVID. |

fire them These are those "big boy" decisions everybody was screaming about. The company made a move and now THEY have to live with their decisions too. They ****ed a lot of good employees off with their heavy handedness. Consequences. I'm pretty sure your opinion of them won't affect their decisions. |
