Only thing remotely realistic would be SEA. But given AS' history of adding and dropping LGB from SEA, wouldn't put much stock into it.

Cool airport but not worth it IMO. Its a political nightmare that will never be fixed, only get worse and they set you up for fines and jack you around constantly. The only possible reason would be if it enabled the capture of solid yield LA metro traffic that couldn't be achieved anywhere else but I'm not seeing that to any significant extent.

Since were throwing billions around in mafiaesque payola schemes (average price per new gate in big cities is well into the hundreds of millions lol yeah right) then maybe pairing it with an "investment" of "protection money" for a new facility of some sort would allow an airline to get rock solid contractual protections from future shakedowns maybe but who knows.

I see it as a medium risk-medium to low reward endeavor.

I wonder if our order is granfathered in, or if it costs to do a paper upgrade/software update.

Meh, I'm sure we could get them to pencil whip existing orders if (when) we dangle another large order in front of them. But why even bother with that if the new ones we'll likely order come with it as standard anyway?

Not to mention the whole "long and thin" route fantasy is way over hyped. Why risk trying to reinvent the wing on that one when we can just sit back, watch David Neeleman's Moxy nonsense flail around playing Risk/Airline Empire and then come in after the very few profitable routes like that are proven and established and just start doing them ourselves?

Don’t know about the A220 but on the A330-900 it’s a structural change including all new trucks to get the higher gross weight.

This is not a design change to the A220, more of an operational testing milestone where the plane has shown what it is truly capable of.

I'm impressed they got as much right as they did.
