There have already been rumblings of an LAX 320 base without this order. It's almost a guarantee now with another 100 coming. That should easily make the 320 category the largest category at Delta, I think even without this order it was going to be the largest with all the 321's.

Just thinking here. It will need to have a new pay rate negotiated. Contract says so.

So if we get ER pay for the NEO's will they have a separate category or one common category? Be dumb to have them separate, but if they combine them reserve pay will be based on 321 NEO pay.

No way it'll be separate. Keep in mind they are retiring some of the older 320's now. It'll probably be a couple of bucks more than the 321, a few less than the ER.

As someone else said...a321Lr = A321neo + more tanks. Two separate names but basically the same thing. Don’t know that a NEO can be retroactively converted to an LR...NEOs are being delivered...LRs aren’t until 2019. Looks like the LR requires the fuselage to have the new config with L2/R2 removed and replaced with overwing exits (2nd link) that comes out next year.

Airbus seems to think the 4 door per side version will go away and they want all A321s to have the overwing exits. This takes away the L2 boarding capability.

Airbus: “We can offer the four-door configuration for the A321neo if the market requires it. There are today more than 1,000 A321s in service and more than 2,300 have been ordered. So the four-door A321 fleet will be very important by 2018. But there are a lot of benefits associated to A321neo ACF, including full cabin layout flexibility, so our customers will move to ACF progressively as it becomes available.”

Good thing our largest category will be one of the lowest paying.....we gotta get that rate up

Are we looking at pay banding for the next round? Seems like with all the nb orders and JV’s it might be a good idea...

Isn’t the second largest category also the second lowest paying...even though both aircraft in that category carry more passengers than other aircraft in higher paying categories?

319/320/321 category will be the largest at DL - even before this latest speculated order.
Love to see it go to West Coast. Would make sense, like the 73 is at every base

A321 NEO requires a new pay rate to be negotiated!
