Good to know, since I'll be leaving dal early. Not counting on needing an extra 1/2mil, but you never know.
Sitting here at the ATL now, observing the employees, tsa to GBirsch. I can't see there would be much difference between a third world country airport and ATL or JFK. Half the stuff I'm looking at doesn't work, elevators and auto doors to employees.

I would recommend anyone thinking of flying in China read this:
Flying Upside Down.
I'm not sure how old it is, but I suspect little has changed since it was wriiten.

That's my point. The steady decline of ATL and JFK makes places like GRU not so bad after all. I'm talkin leaky ceilings, broken elevators, people movers that don't move, peeling plaster, not to mention ATL employees that can't properly interact with the flying public or electrical wiring ready to fry the place.
I avoided Mumbai like the plague in the 90's, but at least India has an excuse, it IS third world. We just have city management that can't manage the place. One worthy restaurant with decent employees, just one, please.

China has hired EMB-170/195 FOs, with NO PIC time as DEC on those airframes. You used to have to have 500+ PIC in type to get DEC in China. No longer. As long as you are PIC in something similar, you can get DEC in China. The highest pay I saw was for small airbus.
The highest published base pay I have seen is $25.5 usd/month. I know of at least 3 pilots who asked for and got at least $30/month. If you live in China, they will pay for your housing, kid's school, transportation, etc. You can be reverse rostered and live in may Western cities that are bases for that particular airline.
Last I heard on medicals, if you are over 50, and PERFECT health, you have a 50/50 shot of passing any particular medical exam.
