Thats fine Scoop. We are around the same seniority. I appreciate your point of view and demeanor. But let me ask you....did being calm and presenting facts do anything to change the mind of the yes voters on the Mec during TA1? Nope. Those same outliers then are now the Trip7s, checklistmonkey, and Bucks that defend mgmt and align their agendas with the other side. Thats fine too....they are entitled to their opinion. The problem ensues when they assume positions of power in either alpa or mgmt. Think it cant and doesnt happen? Trip7, checklistdonkey, buckorogers, and dumbsidedown are the “Squad” of Delta APC. Disparaging them is more useful than conversing with them with facts. Your way enables them and raises their platform. I will agree to disagree with you.

 

First off insulting other posters will detract from your arguments, not win anyone over to your point of view, and make you look foolish. If we allowed this type of posting APC would quickly devolve into another useless Forum with no real relevance.

You are much better off making those that you disagree with look foolish with sound logic and strong fact and opinion based arguments.

Secondly, we want contrarians on this Forum so that members can see the arguments that they are making and think about their response. An echo chamber where we all agree does nothing to help form and sharpen counter points - which we all benefit from.

Thirdly I believe SM on APC and other Forums played a huge part in the line Pilots defeating TA-1 - that is far more important than changing the mind of the few folks who you are referencing.

Finally it is against the TOS. Many things slide by that probably shouldn't but to paraphrase a wise Indian Chief "we Moderators are few, posters are many" and we can't possibly read and monitor every thread but if we receive complaints we will check it out and respond.

You are welcome here and we all look forward to your sharp and well thought out opinions and arguments but please take the insults and personal attacks elsewhere.

Point taken Scoop. I appreciate the insight and constructive criticism. But let me leave you to ponder this. I preferred to punch the bully in the nose when he tried to take my lunch money in the school yard. It worked out a lot better for me than those who ran, tried to reason with him, or just forked it over. But i know we live in PC world and we cant do that anymore. We are all adults blah blah blah. All i ever needed to know i learned in 3rd grade.....keep it simple. Change you can believe in!

 

This assumes that a physical punch is an equal to written words as a deterrent... which couldn’t be farther from the truth.

 

Ok here we go. It was symbolism or figure of speech, metaphor, etc etc. It wasnt meant to be literal. Sheesh. Of course a punch is different than written words. I prefaced it with ponder this.
