Did they do this just to kinda artificially lengthen the seat lock?

Hi everyone, I’m a new hire at DAL with a class date of February 3rd. How or when does the AE close?
Thanks

it closes on January 27th. Looks like you will have to wait til June-ish for your first AE.

It closes on January 27th, so you won’t be eligible to bid anything new until the next AE, whenever that turns out being.

Actually all the guys I've flown with on the 330 that came from the 320 have said they could have actually used another sim or so. They all thought it was a bit too condensed. I came from Boeing so I can't really say one way or another.

By the time the company gets anywhere near to filling the NYC categories, we hold another AE, allowing many of those pilots to bid to other places, thereby sustaining the demand for new bodies to New York.
Very true, NYC is a revolving door for new hires, expensive hotels and non commutable trips make it tough.

Well the 330 training needed the extra day or two. They jammed so much stuff into the training program when I went through - it was overloaded.

Did you go to the 330 from the 320? I hope/plan to do that myself within the next few years (I'm currently on the 320). I can't imagine that the transition would be that difficult. Going from any other aircraft other than the 320, I can appreciate that you would need all the sims you can take.
