So I'm a fairly new guy, 2016 hire. I sit early 11000'ish. If they are going to keep 10730, looks like I wont have a chair when the music stops. But will be above that max number of 11,628. So from reading the above does that mean that (pending any other changes) I would be put in UNA status and likely furloughed come Oct 1st?
My understanding is furloughs are generally staged out and don't necessarily hit all at once?
I have a plan B and second source of guaranteed income...working on a plan C that's non-aviation...

BS said the UNA assignments will be between 12000-12100

I'm in the mid 10000 and I don't think it will reach us, yet. 10730 is the number of pilots they have to have to make the operation work. So if you look at the first 10730 in the list about 1000 of them won't be assigned a plane or seat. Medical leaves, mil leaves, instructors etc. So 11730 will probably be where the last seat is assigned. My guess.
On another note, if I send you a six pack of beer, a bag of marbles, some baseball cards, and a vintage Playboy will you not bid for 717B ATL?

It used to be 180 days, but was changed in the last contract to read as 6 bid periods. Under the previous language, the 180 days after your conversion would expire in the 5th month just a few days before the beginning of a conversion window of another bid when the timing was right. Pilots were missing the opportunity to exercise their reinstatement rights by literally 2 or 3 days. The real intent behind the old language when it was negotiated many moons ago when we had LOT bidding was that 180 days was basically 6 bid periods and it was extremely rare for a pilot to get caught by this. When we switched bid period begin dates it increased the likelihood that a pilot would come up a few days short of being able to exercise reinstatement rights and the company agreed to reword it to reflect bid periods so it was more straightforward for everyone involved.
