No matter what color is painted on the tail, we're all going to be in this together. Stay strong, unified, and take care of each other.

I'll just throw this out there don't know if it would answer any of your questions.
A pilot who is MD'd has recall rights for 180 days. Can't seem to find a 180 days in the contract. But it does say six bid periods. Section 22 might be a good read for a few folks. I would hazard a guess that most pilots furloughed will be out longer that 180 days. But Section 22 talks about Recall too.
Don't really have an answer for the second question.

Section 22 F.10. says "A pilot will receive at least 30 days advance notice from the Company of the conversion date of his displacement."

That is an emotional response. Every airline in the country is in the same boat. The name of the game is survival mode and that means getting the cash burn to 0 as quickly as possible (most are aiming for before the end of the year) in order to ride out this storm. This is beyond contract negotiations. The virus won't care how deep the list goes. Airlines will do what it takes to survive - it's their fiduciary responsibility to shareholders (note I didn't say anything about employees). That's why when Boeing announced layoffs last month, the stock actually went up.
No matter what color is painted on the tail, we're all going to be in this together. Stay strong, unified, and take care of each other.

Believe me our competition doesn't view it like that. You can't shrink into profitability.
We have a revenue problem, they've told us this in no uncertain terms. There are ways to mitigate that, one of which is issuing shares of stock. SWA did, but for some reason our vaunted management group deems that not necessary. Targeted rates for EPS for bonuses down the line? IDK. All I know is its not happening.
So the revenue crunch is being fought by reducing expenses (chose to fight it from the cost side of the sheet). They'd rather take it out of our backs - we're a cost to be controlled. Their dilemma is balancing the cuts with not losing market, and then trying to rapidly jump on market once this opens up. Shrink us too fast, you can't jump on the boom on the back side. Don't shrink enough - see cost problem. Again, many ways to fight this. You mention the other airlines, you should look at how they are fighting this. IMHO, we are cutting too deep - well they at least are telling us that (see reason I don't think we are going to furlough 2500+).
Already they are adding flights back in for June and July. They'll add more too. Just wait. However, they have to balance that with the FUD. They want concessions, what, where and how much $$ is anyone's guess. Maybe the association will enlighten us in the next few days.
But yeah, ummm, no. I'm far from emotional about this mess. I do agree we need to remain united thru this all.
Enjoy your day. I've got to get the boat ready for our spearfishing trip tomorrow.

So I'm a fairly new guy, 2016 hire. I sit early 11000'ish. If they are going to keep 10730, looks like I wont have a chair when the music stops. But will be above that max number of 11,628. So from reading the above does that mean that (pending any other changes) I would be put in UNA status and likely furloughed come Oct 1st?
My understanding is furloughs are generally staged out and don't necessarily hit all at once?
I have a plan B and second source of guaranteed income...working on a plan C that's non-aviation...
