The MEC Chair also said the “big” proposal was just that, a proposal. Just like -15% ALV was a proposal. They said they’d look at it and decide what to do with it. Which could be anything from reject it or make a counter. It sure looks like a last minute cram down.
So I guess I’m agreeing with you. :) |

You guys sound like you’re mixing the two “deals” currently on the table. The LOA that has voluntary measures only and saves the additional 220 furloughs is finalized and will get voted on Tuesday and if it passes it will be made available to everyone shortly afterwards. The “big” proposal that saves all furloughs (and probably requires memrat) is getting briefed to the MEC on Tuesday but there’s no actual TA to vote on yet. The details of that probably won’t be released until there’s an actual TA voted on, or unless there’s more attempts to negotiate in public.
EDIT I see this was answered by tennis and ER flyer |

Who knows what else management is proposing, but I’m betting it contains concessions. |

All TAs should go to MEMRAT even if considered a slam dunk—it’s the default position. It can be overridden by 2/3rds (I think it’s the #) majority but should not be the norm. The voluntary proposal is a TA reached by the NC and will be presented to the MEC this week. If the majority of the MEC supports it, then it should go to memrat.

So in theory should we have an idea what is offered by the company on Tuesday? will the MEC vote to send it out or not on Tuesday or at a later point in time? Just curious how this all might shake out

It’s voluntary. No need for memrat.

Directly from the Delta ALPA policy manual:
“All other amendments to the PWA (side letters of agreement) that have been recommended for approval by a majority vote of the MEC shall be subject to membership ratification.” Doesn’t differentiate whether voluntary or not. |
