So UNA guys have been getting guarantee since essentially March. We did not fly on hardly any fleets from March-June.
A lot on my fleet converted in June to UNA. So 6 months of 72 hours-76 hours.
Now with PSP extended they are getting an additional 4 months of pay at guarantee. Meanwhile I worked 14 days this month for 73 and change.
This is no fault of their own.
Meanwhile we are cancelling flights over two holiday periods now, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Phone is ringing off the hook (I just blocked Deltas number until it’s time to go back to work).
Nobody in management is held accountable for anything. Their games have cost them a lot of money, all for nothing. I don’t care enough about the company itself to follow its every newsletter or email—but sure is frustrating to see something play out like this.
In a vacation month we can work 10 days now for 73 hours. While our brethren (again by no fault of their own) work 0 hours for 72 hours. I mean IMO if you’re not an affected pilot, you should get a 10 hour per month override for being on the roster. This is getting ridiculous.
Oh—and my UNA buddy got himself a kush little job as a “process manager” for $23.50 an hour at a frozen pizza factory. Four 10 hour shifts a week for an additional $3,760 a month to make sure the machine is putting the right amount of sausage on the pizzas. On the bright side delta did give me the opportunity to come into work over Christmas on a green slip. 10:30x2= 21 hours x $155ish an hour hour and I can almost make as much as the UNA friend who’s managing the frozen sausages this month! I still come up $505 short though. $3750-$3255= $505.
Amazing. Our management NEEDS SOME TEGRIDY! So blessed to be part of the worlds greatest airline. Merry Christmas Deltoids.

Dubya did have that one great zinger in one of those WH correspondents dinners. You know, the one that Trump was too chicken s&t to attend all these years. It went something to the effect that you know your presidency is not going well when your VP has just shot someone in the face

If recent administrations are an indication, deficit spending increases under Republicans/conservatives and decreases during Democratic admins. The difference tends to be the Republican deficit spending benefits the wealthy while Democrats tax the wealthy to make up for the shortfalls. Can't wait for the tea party to become a thing again despite the glaring silence during the Trump admin on increasing deficits during a "booming economy".
To get anything under control at this point we need to look beyond party. The US version of democracy is severely broken because money took over. I wish I had some good ideas that might actually be palatable, but getting those in power to reign in their own lust for power and wealth, without outside forces, is highly improbable. History doesn't paint too many pretty pictures of how to fix that.

What I read was he wants to increase the payments to individuals from one time $600 per person to $2,000 per person (for those making less than $100,000 per year).
He also is unhappy about the large amounts going to other countries compared to the smaller amounts going to individuals and businesses here in the US.

Significant expenditures "overseas" are also funneled directly or indirectly to US corporations (e.g., defense contracts), so my hunch is that the devil is in the details.
EDIT...I see now, the relief bill is being rolled together with the omnibus funding, so as to create taking points for everyone (and the overseas funding complaints, et al). This will be fun to watch - Trump falling on a final sword making demands that seem to match Pelosi's? 2020 will end with fireworks befitting this year of chaos.

OMG! So right. I don’t even want to mention the other jobs folks have found making six figures in addition to six more as a UNA! But it is no fault of their(UNAs) own. I feel as if the company and ALPA have pitted us against one another perfectly. No way on God’s green earth it makes sense that junior people get paid full pay to stay home and senior guys(not me btw) are hustling bull**** domestic trips on 767-400s & A330s w 24 souls on board. Wait was there no contractual ability to do SILs...mmmmm!!! I’m usually quiet, but I’m a little ****ed right now. Happy my friends that should be furloughed are not, but I’m not a socialist so me working so they don’t have to is bull****! Especially when they’ve all found 6 figure gigs otherwise!

Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and AOC all agree with Trump. If that isn’t an ironic ending to a wild year, I don’t know what is.
He should veto. Here is an excerpt from an article tonight:
What did Trump say?
But in Tuesday night's message from the White House, the Republican president baulked at spending in the bill on other countries, arguing that the money should go to struggling Americans.
He said: "This bill contains $85.5m for assistance to Cambodia, $134m to Burma, $1.3bn for Egypt and the Egyptian military, which will go out and buy almost exclusively Russian military equipment, $25m for democracy and gender programmes in Pakistan, $505m to Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama."
The president questioned why the Kennedy Center, a performing arts complex in Washington DC, was set to receive $40m when it is not open, and more than $1bn has been allocated to museums and galleries in the capital.

Oh it gets even better as individuals are starting to pick apart what’s actually in the bill.
$25,000,000 additional salary for the House of Representatives (because they’ve worked so hard).
$25,000,000 for cleaning supplies in the Capital building.
The spending habits of our representatives as a whole is an absolute disgrace.
This bill should be 20 pages, yet it’s nearly 5,600 PAGES.
I wonder why that would be? Probably in hopes nobody decides to read it. The 25M for cleaning supplies was found on pg. 136 apparently.
