One would think after the Thanksgiving fiasco and soon Xmas that Delta will drop a realistic AE instead of repeatly stating we are fully staffed for Summer 21 after 175 FOs added on the recent bid. With pages and pages of Capt GS going out I don't think we are staffed for Spring Break let alone Summer 21

Captain? Heck, my wife finally made me turn off ARCOS because it was going nuts. Between that and the inverse assignment calls, Delta has screwed up my sleep cycle. ATL320B.

I posted in another thread my experience on a trip that went from Wed-Sat. I was receiving robo calls all during the trip, and into today for picking up premium flying. NYC base. Getting same last week starting on Sunday. We are negative in reserves and lots of folks are still NQAT.

Domestically I would tend to agree. International still seems to be a big crap shoot over the mid-term. Dozens of countries are announcing the blocking flights from the UK due to the rapid spread of a new strain there.

Several categories are so short staffed flights have canceled since Thanksgiving, and I'm sure Christmas will be a nightmare. Reroutes and assignments..And to think Delta was trying to fool the pilot group saying they were going to furlough..Now we see how much of a joke that was.

agree and I should have clarified. Int’l is much less predictable

Some of the GS are due to mismanagement not staffing. I can point to specific examples of mismanaging 30/168. CS used to be Ninjas when predicting reserve availability and rest. I've had it assigned on day 2 of an 8 day block, so I would be legal for the weekend. Now they are missing it completely.

The Christmas holiday cancellations that may occur would all be a result of them not utilizing their last option in trip coverage: green slip with conflict.
Several categories are now at the point where assignments that do not touch the holiday have gone all the way down to out of base GS on their second of third of the month, and they are in the 10,000 seniority range. That is the last stop before CONF.
I understand the company wants to save money and they see CONF assignments as burning the furniture to heat the house (with dropped trips opening up after the holiday) but that ship has sailed. Clearly cost savings is out the window if 8,000 greenslips went out last month.
It would be a shame to see flights canceled like the Thanksgiving mess.
In a day or two, we'll see if they wise up and figure it out.

I gotta think there are some idle 330s, 350s and ERs with crew ready to soak up some add flights at premium pay. If we crap all over our customers' Christmas plans with this little notice, it will completely be by choice. I don't get the big bucks to make these decisions, but I would personally choose to bend over backwards not to recreate Thansgiving so soon after that disaster. If 270-hour months (GSWC, vacation moves, IAs, etc.) were worthwhile in the 350-opening era, they're appropriate now. Business is about to get good in 2021... let's start off the year right!
