He outlines the hoops Delta has to jump thorough like buying the Compass certificate. If he says no to what Delta did, but outlines a more expensive path for Delta to retain LOA 9 then you’d have negotiating capital. The principle of a scope sale would be gone, and the price to settle would be a value of the “hoops” Delta would have to jump through to revive LOA 9.

Let’s not sell our selves short, positive space commute is crumbs. (Maybe part of a package ok)
Plus need to “give” the FAs the same, that always hurts us..

Let's take the exchange for scope out of this conversation for a second. Positive space commuting doesn't have to be an "us vs them" topic. As a non-commuter, I would 100% back up positive space commuting. I like to know that my fellow pilot isn't stressing about making it home to their kids t-ball game or even make it home that night. People may choose to commute out of base and impact me in a positive way or choose to come to my base which and hurt my seniority lol. Bottom line, positive space commuting would be a big win. Who knows I may move out of base down the road and it could end up being a great benefit for me too. Sometimes being a part of a union means you go along with things that good for all, not just you. Again, I'm not talking about exchanging this for scope.
Some issues are of course beneficial to the whole, like pay and scope(and even that could be argued as a divisive issue), and some are divisive like pos space commuting.
a few counter point to pow space commuting and my own position:
-pos space commuting hurts in base domiciled pilots as white slips and greens slips that would under normal non pos spaces rules fall to the in domicile residence pilots.
-The we have to give it to the FA issue makes the few limited seats that would be available to nonrevs unavailable in some cases, thus those nonrevs who would exercise their seniority to get on a flight, are getting that seniority abrogated.
-out of base pick ups by white slippers, who can pos space in to cover the trip diminishes the trip availability , thereby diminishing the ability and flexibility to adjust the in base schedule of the in base domiciled pilot.
