And I'm guessing that about 99.9% of the capts. after a couple of polite asks would lose their politeness. You'd either do as they ask, be the PM the rest of the trip, or get off the trip.

It is an exchange for 35 more large RJs.

I’m saying I’m fine with the flow deal on it’s own.

However, they’ve tied it to 35 large RJs which makes it a big fat no for me.

I’m just trying to be clear that I am not anti flow before I have a bunch of 9E guys pounce all over me making arguments about why they deserve a flow and starting that whole argument again.

If scope is for sale, the price is significantly higher than a flow back. At least in this voter’s opinion.

I was not talking about negotiating a flow down, we already have that vis a vis LOA-9. I was referring to other areas of the PWA.

agree, a flow down would have been great 6 months ago, but of course no one was interested in letting thousands of DL pilots cut to the front of their list and our flow down rights conveniently ended almost the exact moment we needed them.

Agreed 100%, if we end up giving up 35 RJ’s for 90% flow back DALPA will have some serious explaining.

You actually hit on another very good reason why this entire line of attack is a waste of time. By the time this comes into play again, who knows if they will still even be in business. But let's say there is an agreed flow down and it becomes relevant. How many jobs do you honestly think it will 'save'? If they are gonna furlough 1000-2000 guys, would all 2000 go down? A number like that would mean they ain't all gonna be captains. Would a 737 FO go back to the right seat of an RJ? Then there is the time to train. But let's say it is a number significantly less than 1-2000. Say 300. We will have given up bottom end scope to 'save' 300 jobs out of 15,000. That 's a crappy batting average. I'm not saying throw furloughees to the wolves, but for Heaven's sake get something worthwhile for the 15,000 guys on the property.

Because it’s terribly inefficient and demonstrates poor airmanship. Sort of like flying around with the boards out and the throttles up.

When our cockpits become democracies I’ll follow your advice.

Lol for what? Is it against sop to fly the airplane that way? Or is it just not how you'd fly the airplane? As long as its with in the box of SOP/VOL1/FAR's/FCTM/ect then get over it. The more experience people get in the airplane the more comfortable they become with the nuances. But at the end of the day they are pilot flying so, unless you just want to be sky God and fly all the time then get off your high horse. You're not in the military any more I'm not sure if you know that or not.

Yeah, 8 year extension of the current contract with a .5% additional raise that doesn’t start till 2025, yikes.

yeah I can agree with you on some things here. Although I will say I would have been happy to go down to 9E even as an FO at their rates, beats any job I was finding that did not require me to resign from DL, but I can see your point. I will still say one list CRJ-200 through A350 would be even better, but I digress.

I will fully support DALPA on this one, SCOPE is being attacked on many fronts and this is just one. This management is bloodthirsty for scope relief to help fix the problem they created by not reinstating all UNA pilots to a real category after the VEOP. Never forget that is the reason we find ourselves here today.
