Got caught in the tax dodger deal in SLC (Which I actually give him props for because he played the game. Frankly, what he was doing imho was perfectly legal.. but that is a different story) ALways *****ed about Delta though
He was a greenslip king. He would watch the open time and often reduce the block time which could cause the other pilots and flight attendants to possibly lose pay to ensure he could get a upcoming choice GS. He was always trying to reduce block for 30/7 or the monthly max unless he was actually on a GS in which case the errors went the other way.

I'll bet you loved the old "shoot for these speeds" on the approach TOLD card. The only time I ever saw guys having a hard time seeing the runway on a straight in VFR day was because the nose was so high...

good times.

He had a thing about the flap speeds. You could only extend them at the lowest allowed speeds so you were always nose up. He said they shook the aircraft to much and caused maintenance to many issues if extended at book speeds. He would however toss the gear down at 11,000 feet and 275 knots. It would sound like a explosion when the handle was moved and the flight attendants would call up in a panic asking what happened.

FWIW... back when gas was Uber pricey we were trained to keep it clean until necessary. Now it seems everyone throws out flaps as soon as they can. Each additional flap selection seems to increase fuel burns about 100 GPH on the jet I fly.

Yep - not to mention when flying clean and decelerating to flaps 1 speed you are basically turning off your auto-slat protection on the 737.

From 9E peeps it sounds like Delta has reached an agreement in principle with the EDV MEC and intends to move forward with the flow idea.

What is the next move from DALPA? Grievance/arbitration? It doesn’t seem management has any interest in playing ball with us.

Details of the AIP are 20/month, protected flying quota, and 1.5% annual raises. Endeavor essentially gives nothing (flowback) to gain this. It seems pretty clear that management doesn’t give a crap about the flow, this is a scope grab plain and simple.

To be clear, I’m not against progression for FFD, I was there before. I am, however, against Delta bullying DALPA pilots on scope from both ends.

For the record there is a flow back in the AIP. Up to 90% of EDV positions can be taken by back flowed delta pilots.
