I used to fly with a guy who would tell you all about how horribly Delta screwed him in the NE merger 20 years prior. He was furloughed when Delta bought NE but he did not get credit for his 7 months furlough time in the integration. He was recalled immediately after the merger but that loss of time ruined his life. Then he would tell you about his 5000 square foot Park City house, 4000 sq foot coastal Maine house, Wyoming tax condo house and the ranch he was currently thinking about buying. I loved it when one FE told him he sure hopes he gets screwed as bad in the next merger as he got screwed in the NE merger!

No, it was SF and thus either entirely fabricated or at best severely exaggerated.

If you ever flew with "Mike", you know that the story was very similar. A NE mechanic that got his ratings... no college... was a 727 captain that was very senior... flew greenslips out the wazoo and was one of the highest paid at DAL. Got caught in the tax dodger deal in SLC (Which I actually give him props for because he played the game. Frankly, what he was doing imho was perfectly legal.. but that is a different story) ALways *****ed about Delta though
