Yes. If you can not hold anything in base of choice, then you end up in another base

Are you in SEA now? If they post an AE, you will stay in SEA unless you bid out to another base. Even if they don’t post a single new opening in whatever category you currently reside, you will stay there. They would have to post a displacement for you to risk getting pushed out.

I should have been more specific. During a displacement this would happen.

if your seniority can hold a category, you can displace into it, regardless of if there are posted positions or not. In icrew you can fill out an MD preferences and put whatever you want if you get displaced and you will go whatever category is the highest on your list that you can hold.

Whole lot of 73s. And interesting to see so many SEA7ERs go to new hires in the months after they claimed to be closing the category.

There getting rid of the SEA 7ER base? That was what I was hoping would be available for me.

Yes, 7ER which is apparently going away. Unsure what happens when it does. Definitely don’t want a different base but unsure how the system works when a base sundowns equipment.

Any pilot who gets displaced can go anywhere there is a pilot junior to him. Theoretically this can produce secondary displacements as those pilots then have to go somewhere else that their lower seniority can hold. In this fast growth environment the company will probably be short every FO position so even the most junior pilot initially displaced will in all likelihood be able to stay in their base just on a different fleet. Multiple secondary and tertiary displacements get very costly for the company and generally are avoided at all costs.

If the vacancy posting is titled Advanced Entitlement , you are good and can’t be involuntarily displaced. If it’s titled Surplus, you are at risk of being displaced and should have at least Mandatory Displacement bids entered in iCrew. PWA 22. F is your contract source for displacements.
