Extremely true! Something I’ve taken with me since I was an 18 year old enlisted kid was to not only learn and take on what you can from the good leaders you encounter, but also the bad leaders. I’ve flown with some excellent captains, and I have yet to fly with anybody I wouldn’t fly with again, but I have seen how NOT to do CRM from a few guys and that’s left an indelible mark.

Well WATRS is difficult enough because Delta has had an uptick in deviations…enough so that the FAA called Delta to the table for a chat about it. Expects WATRS to be in QCQ later this year and two new e-brief videos; one on normal Ops and one on contingencies.

I never understood how we have TOE for widebodies, but nothing for 737 drivers unleashed on the WATRS routes with nothing but domestic OE.

interesting. Probably not a bad idea. I know a couple other airlines actually have a sim day dedicated to intl ops including WATRS.

while I think we definitely could use more training, I don’t think it’s super crazy or something that would keep me from upgrading on the 737

I bet most of those deviations are SLC, LAX, SEA pilots.

It’s not that hard, follow the dang guide. And don’t be scared of a HF radio!

the only one that the LCP shared with me was a Capt that was deviating without asking for it…thought that RNP 10 was carte blanche to maneuver up to 10 as he saw fit. NY selcal’d them and asked them what they were doing.

LCP had said he was asking to make WATRS a TOE requirement for the 737 guys….mgmt told him to pound sand.
