I know this has probably already been asked, but what is training pay for new hires? Any chance of that being increased in the future? TIA.

$5091.20/month until completion of IOE or 30 days after your checkride, whichever comes first. No per diem for any training in ATL, but they are finally paying for hotels and uniforms, which is a recent change. If you live in a state with no income taxes (or certain ones that do) You will owe GA state income taxes on the portion of your income you earn until you are off training pay.

Allegedly training pay has been fixed in the new contract…but I would not count on any changes

IQ expect 5 on 2 off.

Could be as little as 30hrs off after your 44X (sim checkride) and then start OBS and straight into IOE
So we can likely expect weekends off during IQ?

I will probably be in the Sept 20 indoc class. My sister is getting married on Saturday Oct 22. I assumed I wouldn’t be able to attend the wedding, but now it seems like maybe I can?

Unfortunately 5/2 schedule does not always mean M-F with the weekend off. I had wed/thurs off when I went through. Sims/PTs run all day everyday for the most part. You won’t really know until you get your training sched in indoc. Cheers and good luck.

5/2 doesn’t mean weekends off.

My schedule ended up being Wed-Sun, with Mon and Tues off.

As for sister wedding, as soon as you get your airplane assignment, search DLNet for the contact info of your fleet training manager and let them know ASAP!

Talk to the training planner. Do it in person and I suspect you will be able to work something out.

You’ll be emailed a link to fill out prior to indoc, one of the questions is do you have anything (e.g. your sisters wedding) during indoc + 90 days. Be honest and ask for those dates off - good chance they’ll adjust your training schedule to accommodate.

Thank you! Looks like theres pros and cons to both kinds of flying which may change soon too. If LAX is offered whenever my class is ill be happy either way. I think its best not to commute on probation if I can avoid it!
