New Hire Class Drops

very good I’d say if things keep up. Look for the drops that say 7ER and that’s the aircraft.

Basically every class has the 757 available in the drop (we call it the 7ER because it also includes flying the 767-300ER). Class seniority is by last 4 of your SSN, highest to lowest, so the higher your SSN last 4 is the better chance of you getting your top pick.

Good info except the why we call it 7ER. It was the international category when there was a domestic only category for it, since combined into one. Similar to why we have the 73N. There used to be 737 category at the same time that was the steam guage a/c (also i believe a 73G or similar for a while from my recollection when there were some glass cockpit 737-300s)

Is your last 4 of your social closer to 9999 than 0000?
And yes she's everything and more!

Thank you all for the Information. My social is closer to 0000 hopefully that’s good and you said NYC oh lord lol 😂. I assume base can be changed eventually. I have family in Atlanta wouldn’t be a hard commute. But lastly any tips for the application process. I know delta is pretty strict and thorough.

I've got a class date early next year, but the FOMO is hitting really hard. With EB announcing hiring to slow at the "town hall" in MSP, I fear that I won't see a WB B let alone a WB A position for +15 years. I'm finding it hard to stay when UAL has unfilled CA positions, and I could be in a WB A position within a year. Is there any hope for WB flying at Delta?

Lots of friends at AA and UA…AA friends are not getting on WB any earlier than DL, and UA friends are sitting airport reserve for the foreseeable several years. Friends at DL are on 330/350 with 4-5 years at DL (I’ll exclude the crazy NH to 350B part). It’s all subjective, but I don’t really see those other two options as any better than DL, in fact I see them as worse options (unless one is interested in living in base at AA/UA). And if anyone makes the argument of, “well but that’s not a guarantee of how it’ll be in X years,” then you have to apply that same logic to the other airlines as well, which effectively cancels out that point in this discussion.

What Fangs said. Don’t worry too much though.
Different bases/equipment go junior in different classes. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. There’s still a chance you can get one of your top choices even if you’re junior in your class.
Delta doesn’t publish a “drop” in the sense of allocating a specific numbers of choices. They will just list bases and equipment combinations and have the ability to award as many or as few as they like of each (within the PWA limits of what was available after the last AE)
