Right I getcha. I’d love to get some Asia from NYC, but very little 330 flying there it seems, so until we get the Tree Fiddy it won’t happen. It’s just a lesson here to never bid a plane based on destination for newhires (and anybody). I remember JFK LHR switched between 3 fleets in 3 summers (ER, 330, 764).

Yup, agreed. The complexity of our rotation builds and how much it changes from month to month makes it difficult to bid an airplane for a destination. Hell we flip flop fleets one or 2 months out at times too. Just bid for overall type of flying and bases really. On a positive note it gives us variety and change…

Does anybody know what airframe is getting first available upgrade?
Also, does anybody know what the seniority of the most junior SLC Captains are? I know they have 737, 220, 320
As a new hire my goal would be to bid same airframe that I’d take first available upgrade in (prob 73 from what I’ve heard). Then just wait out till I can transfer to SLC.
Thanks in advance for any info or advice.

I think that’s why many guys just camp out on WB B. Yeah your country will change, but you’re still going international. Not like NB where you can be doing transcons one trip, islands another, then ATL hops on the third. It’s easier to bid when you know you don’t have to dodge multi leg days.

Yup. I’ve enjoyed my time a lot on the ER and for most part 80% of my trips have been amazing. But it’s hard to know what future holds with fleet or trip builds. Which is why I’ll just sit patiently until my call up to 330. As you said, just park my ass on right seat of that knowing I’m going somewhere for 1 leg days lol

Differences between 73N and 7ER out of ATL
Trying to see what the general pros and cons for these two out of ATL. If it matters, big on flying to the Caribbean/warm places. Makes an overnight a little more bearable. But obviously seniority is king and I’ve been told conflicting things as to what moves quicker.

I don’t think the Caribbean flying out of ATL is overnights. Anytime I’ve had it on a rotation it was always a turn (for 7ER). If it is overnights I imagine it’s very senior. ATL7ER is really top heavy.
