Yup. This is why what is posted on the AE doesn't really mean anything to me. I don't bid based on what is posted on the AE, I bid based on what I want to fly, so I've always kept standing bids. One of the first things I did after we got access to iCrew during indoc, was get in there and put in my bid for WB B. There really is no excuse for the people who are upset about DTW350Bs being awarded when it wasn't listed on the AE. Backfills can always be a thing...even when they say they won't backfill lol. I've also kept a pretty robust displacement bid in, just in case.

I imagine a displacement bid is more important if ATL is not your preferred domicile?

If anything I'd say it's more important if NYC is not your preferred domicile. But I think a displacement bid is important for anyone to have in, especially if junior. It costs nothing. Just be sure to put in a MANDATORY displacement preference, not a voluntary displacement (unless that's truly what you want). I know a guy who accidentally displaced himself off the 330B, a spot he planned on staying on until he could hold 330A lol.

Default A320s at SEA

Hey everyone, not sure if this is the best place, but this is my first post and I'm trying to track down some information for my interview with Delta this Friday.

I'm ironing out the details of my "why Delta" answer. My question up front is: Does Delta have A320s based at SEA?

I want to ultimately end up at the SEA domicile, but I also want to highlight Delta's A320 fleet as I have that type rating and really like the airframe. But I don't want to throw both of those in that answer if they conflict so it's not confusing and/or comes across like I don't know what I'm talking about. Thanks for the info.

Yes there is a SEA 320 base. However I’m not sure that that’s the best to answer “why Delta?” As a new hire you could be assigned any one of our 8(?) types.

Just because you have a type on the 320 doesn’t mean much to the interview squad.

This is correct. The question infers discussions of corporate culture and how you would fit in. Not convenience.

Yeah everybody, I get that. It is a very minor part of a much larger answer. And the way I put it here was for clarity and simplicity, not how I'd answer it in the interview. My answer to that question has been workshopped to death until everyone was happy with it. I was just here looking for help to make sure I had a single fact straight so I wasn't leaving holes in my narrative. But thank you for the feedback.

"I like flying the A320 and would look forward to flying it at Delta. But I would be happy flying any airplane I get in indoc, I'll just be happy to be coming to Delta".
