We just retired 77 Maddogs, 10 737s, 9 320s and 18 777s.
VEOP plus age 65: about 2k dudes left.
Deliveries are at 34 ac this year, 32 in 2022.
If hiring is so aggressive what are these dude going to fly? Unless there is a monster order ready to be announced with super fast deliveries..
E periods already being utilized on most fleets.

Just using the numbers above we are only down net 48 aircraft with over 2K less Pilots. Seems you answered your own question.

I've heard the issue is largely due to an inefficient 320 OE scheduler / scheduling process.

How old is that data point? I did 44X in late March, and waited approx 4 weeks; my sim partner was less than that. Have heard in the meantime they have that down to “normal”.
